Sacred Hill, Helmsman Cabernet Merlot, Hawke's Bay

Wine has aged well judging by the colour.However the nose is flat ish after 2 hours, dusty almost. Extremely dry, dark choc notes slightly on the bitter side. Surprised the fruit has not held up with the remaining tannins still evident. I’ve got one more bottle which I’ll be leaving another 5 years in the hope everything comes back together into the wine it should be

Preferred the Brokenstone slightly more a year ago at Geoff Kelly's blind tasting of 2013 reds, but at a later tasting, also blind, the Helsman stood out to me, above the 2014 Coleraine and 2013 Brokenstone, and 2013 Aviator.
