Compared to the 2018 Gabbro drank alongside it, slightly lighter, semi-translucent dark ruby. Nose is rich but slightly milky dark chocolate, lovely dried chilli spices, paprika , dried hillside herb bushes. Palate is semi-smooth but still quite pronounced tannin. Chewy red and black cherry fruit. Pronounced 14.5% alcohol, you wouldn’t call it subtle. Still has 10+ years to improve. Could have benefited from a long decant rather than our hasty open and pour whilst fishing.

Solid wine with lots of dark red fruit, but austere. Needs more time. Went well with food (bbq). Very good potential. 92++

Very earthy and gamey initially. Fortunately with a few hours ripe cherry/raspberry came to dominate. Tobacco, mineral and herbs on the side. Give it a few hours open to blossom and it becomes versatile.

Much better now. Lots of smoke, some bacon. Almost cote rotie like. Weird. Was a fruit bomb two years ago. Glad I have it.

Medium deep ruby color. Deep nose of ripe blue and black berries, toasted oak and vanilla. Dry, rounded acidity, integrated tannins, palate follows through. Medium full body, outstanding balance, weightless medium finish that tapers off.

Still a youthful wine: dark red color with some purple on the edges. Intense bouquet of dark berries, spices. Wonderful texture, full bodied, strong. Still some unpolished tannins in the finish which hopefully will melt away in the coming years. I expect the drinking window to peak in 2-3 years.

Nice one. Just mature and ready to drink. I like wines just before peak.

This is almost on the verge of marmalade, but just enough structure and balance to make it very drinkable for me. For my taste could be a 100 usd Barolo. Also good acidity is there to take it to 2030.
