Preston of Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel

Picked this up at the winery on a clear the cellar special. Sometimes you’re not sure what you’ll get. This is holding up well and is very enjoyable for a boutique bottle from a small production up and comer. Ruby in the glass, moderately aromatic nose of red and dark fruit,palate is dry and a bit hot (15.4%), plum, blackberry, spice, currant, acidity is medium +, body medium, finish is long. Don’t be afraid of the clearance rack, great value …

Love this wine - was in it's peak drinking window. Drank over 4 hours and saved half the bottle for the next day and it was still great.

Brought to Bulgaria for a gift for the family we stayed with. I remember it being well enjoyed with big black fruit.

The zin and syrah are best from Hatfield imho. Give this zin 30 minutes to open and it's very nice unique one. Best with food with acidity there. Special flavor I can't quite identify but I like it. Held up pretty good day #2.

Edging a little too fruit-forward for me. Needs a bit more tannic balance.
