One of the best Rosenblum Zins I've ever had. Dark red color, hint of purple, mostly clear, medium body. Mellow nose of caramel and cherry, more of the same on the palate, balances with some cedar, just a hint of leather. Subtle tannin still present. Beautiful long finish. Still has a bit of life left in it.

Tasting at Rosenblum in Alameda. was the best zinfandel tasted, with a rich, fruity nose followed by sweet, ripe fruit elegantly combined with soft tannins, needs 3 years in the cellar to peak, but most zinfandel lovers will drink it immediately. This was the first reserve zinfandel since the 1984 and it was a barrel sample.
