Podere Santa Maria (Colleoni) Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

Really delicious. Medium to light body but lovely and energetic and the flavors come through. Berry notes and resolved tannins. Almost Burgundian.

Bottle 3 of 6. The last few years have been extraordinary kind to the ‘06 Riserva, and this is now at peak imo. A very lovely bottle of bright and fragrant brunello, with an impressive intensity at a very high pitch. Just absolutely adorable and very rewarding. Love this stuff and will enjoy the remaining 3 btls over the next 2-3 years. 93-95 pts.

Delicious. Medium body, light and energetic. Very characteristic Brunello tar and berry profile.

Bottle 2 of 6, and 4 yrs. since last visit. Opened in the morning and given a quick decant before serving. Lovely open nose, quite perfumed, but still relatively closed and tight on the palate. High quality, fine length, drinking well, but more to come. Hold for another 5 yrs+. (91-92 pts).

Opened in the morning for dinner same evening; still this was very mute and restrained compared to other 06 BdM's. Showing glimpse of a promising future, but needs more time, at least 3-5 yrs. Seems to possess the right ingredients. Impossible to score it for now.
