A month in Barolo: A visit at Azelia with the Scavino family (Castiglione Falletto, Piedmont, Italy) : I was actually a bit surprised to learn on this visit that this wine no longer sees any barrique. Not sure when the shift happened, but when I was here in 2014 there was certainly plenty of barrique still being used in the Brico Fiasco and San Rocco. This wine is definitely better off in Botti. Jeroboams Fiesta Piedmontese Tasting. Brief notes: Brighter, lighter and much more floral than the denser ‘normale’ alongside it. Lovely lifted character, still plenty of structure but feels very elegant in style.
