Ripe cherry-wild strawberry end of the spectrum, dust and umami, and seems more balanced and interesting than a bottle tasted last year...otherwise consistent with excellent notes below, especially MMs. There's enough depth to make it very enjoyable. Crowd pleaser go-to with solid QPR.

At first, it's all cherry on the nose and steel on the palate, but it switches up a bit with some air. At that point, I'm getting some honey-roasted nuts, Dr Pepper, and black tea. So I guess it's somewhere between minerally and sugary. Pretty decent surface-level juice at this price.

Another great SLH by Roar. Drank at graduation party so no formal notes.

At Cru Nantucket while on vacation. No formal notes as I battled a cold (making all tasting notes a challenge). Cranberry, strawberry. Good mouthfeel. Would recommend.

Color/App: light, translucent fuchsia/ruby core -> diffuse ruby rim. Lovely, feminine nose right on PnP of pomegranate and cranberry, forest floor, mulling spices and beetroot. Medium bodied palate with a lithe, silky texture, good acidity and a moderately-long finish with just a touch of fine tannins still. Palate shows rhubarb, pomegranate, cherries, allspice and a hint of cola. Really well balanced (14.7% Etoh and no burn) and a delicious example of a SLH village wine. What a pleasure to drink.

A glass full of strawberry and bing cherry jam! Despite all of this fruit, there is a nice elegance on the finish. Linear and primary but enjoyable to drink when you don’t want to be overly analytical about your wine.

Tasted double blind. Medium ruby color with clear-pink edges. Aromas of cherry & fig, hibiscus, dusty spices, sandalwood and pink peppercorn. Ripe, succulent palate of fig, pomegranate and cherry fruit, with clove, allspice and apple skin. Rich middle density, medium-plus acid, with fleshy tannins and moderate depth on the finish.

Very nice wine! Floral, with rose petal and bright crushed fruits on the nose. Slight baking spice perfume. Flavors were darker, with ample richness and balancing acidity. Toasty. The wines here don't really disappoint, as the value and quality are very high. The 19's seem to be more open and accessible, maybe even slightly lighter, than the 18's right now.

Solid Pinot with a great QPR. Very enjoyable with dry rub chops, potato salad and fruit salad. It sure felt like summer. Medium weight with soft texture and pretty red fruit. Nice integration at this juncture.

Excellent appellation offering from ROAR highlighting the very best of the Santa Lucia Highlands. Red berries and chaparral vegetation punctuate this easy drinker. Great QPR for what you will find in this bottle. Young to be sure but open for business now. Rustic and savory while being fresh and inviting.
