Stoney fruit. Acidity. Mineral. Good with food but probably not sipping by itself

A delicious streak of yellow fruit/honeysuckle/almond/melon with an umami gloss throughout, offset by a touch of oxidation and pith. I generally don't care for oxidative whites, but this was below my threshold of annoyance, really just a hint that added a flavor component rather than a blurring/overshadowing effect. It's possible that the oxidation will fade instead of grow, as some Rhones do, in which case the secondary complexity to follow could be sublime. Having said that, I'd err on the …

Like Rhone versions this wine has a unique weight and mouthfeel. Yellow fruit with clove, spice, and herbs. It's a white wine that drinks like a red.

movie night (in spirit, Santa Barbara, CA) : deep carnation-yellow gold color. Nose some brine and light rubber notes, then more stone fruit notes with time. Palate oily richness though it does have some brightness, prominent stone fruit, good depth. Definitely on the richer side for a white but good balance and enjoyable. 90 pts

-- cracked and poured -- -- tasted non-blind over 3 hours on Day 1; revisited on Day 3 -- NOSE: honeysuckle; mineral; faint mortadella. Richer on Day 3, but same aromatic profile as Day 1. BODY: rich, green-tinged golden yellow color; medium to medium-full bodied. TASTE: dry --- almost a touch tannic; not much fruit; hay; 14.3% alc. not noticeable; medium-low acidity; light oak. Same on Day 3. Hold.

Very unusual wine. Appearance - clear, brownish tinged Gold. The color makes you think you are getting something with age. Like an older Spanish white. Nose - briny smell, so I guess olive. Fishy (but not in a bad way). Wet leaves. Forrest floor. Can’t really identify a fruity smell but maybe essence of lemon. Nose alcohol burn. There is a sweetness that emerges but I can’t identify a note. Ok, going with lemon. Not zest but juice. But not …

14.3% abv. Aged 15 mos in older French barrels. Dark golden color. Aromatic nose, oily complexity/fruit essence, very slight petrol with hints of marzipan sweetness. Palate golden apple, minerals, slight dusky bitterness, rounded fruits and some tropicals more pronounced on day 2, full body. Very nice now with spicy/acidic foods. Dangerously drinkable considering the high abv for a white, wears it well. 91 pts

The wine looks yellow gold colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like lemon, pear, slight toasted wood (very light), honeysuckle, beeswax, almond and hazelnut. It tastes like lemon, pear, wood and beeswax, almond and toasted hazelnut, hint of oak structure but really no sense of oakiness thank goodness. Grape's character allowed to express itself. It has a structural fullness that I associate with some skin-contact Chards from Jura -- and a GOOD …
