Really enjoyable for a 2017 and has matured quite nicely since I last tried it. Mature plummy fruit, cloves and spices. Very nice. Gives me hope for all those ‘16s that Mark1npt convinced me to buy.

I am between 88 and 89 points depending on your taste. I would rate the fruit 90 and the finish 88. It's fruit forward and nice fruit at that. It's medium body. The tannins and acidity are lacking so on that point it's not balanced. I paid $30 at Costco, but I won't buy again since it lacks finish.

This was a great effort despite the vintage. Not quite as good as the VGS 2014-2016 Zins, but still an excellent wine as far as I’m concerned. I don’t love big over ripe Zinfandel, and I would say this was edging towards that vs the previous vintages, but still very drinkable and didn’t cross the line to being a gloopy syrupy mess like some 2017s.
