Bijzonder aangename wijn. Zwoel in de neus met donker fruit. Vol van smaak, maar de wijn heeft ook iets fris en jongs, rond met een aangenaam zuurtje. Gedronken bij hertengoulash.

In February 2020, I was impressed by the floral perfume and the compact minerality backbone of Castell d’Encús Syrah, named Thalarn. I was eager to taste Quest, a Bordeaux-styled blend from the same producer. 2013 Castell d’Encús Costers del Segre Quest was complex, perfumed and evolving. The developing Catalan wine was medium ruby in colour with traces of fine sediments. Freshly uncorked, it was rather closed with simple aromas of blackcurrant and toast. Noch ziemlich violett im Kern, in den Breiten Randaufhellungen sind aber auch orange Reflexe ausmachbar. Nase nach Weichsel, erwas Bittermandel, Amarenakirsche und Zwetschke. Feine Würze. Am Gaumen eher auf der säurebetonten Seite, eher grobschlächtige Tannine, das macht den Wein aber zu einem guten Speisenbegleiter. Auch hier Amarenakirsche und Zwetschke, etwas rauchig.

El vino fermenta en lagares de piedra del s. XII con levaduras autóctonas. Maloláctica en barrica donde luego permanece 16 meses. Es fruto del ensamblaje de cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, petit verdot y merlot. De color picota violáceo. La nariz es expresiva, con notas de cerezas maduras, recuerdos a monte bajo mediterráneo y algún matiz especiado. En boca el ataque es bueno, paso fluido, resulta fresco, con tanino pulido, textura algo terrosa y bastante longitud.

Eine wunderschöne, feinwürzige Bordeauxcuvee. Sehr dunkles Rubin, violette Reflexe. Nase nach Gewürzen, Weichseln. Am Gaumen vollmundig, samtig, Weichseln und Gewürze auch hier, breitschultrig aber tolle Balance - ellenlang!
