Klein Constantia Tasting : Smells of melon, mango, white pepper and lemon candy. A little kiwi and matchstick. On the palate, it’s round and a little bitter with medium acidity. Lemon oil and mango. A touch rhubarb which is very nice. Medium+ finish. 8+/18

Soft medium bodied, subtle oak along with grape fruit and citrus. Medium finish with hints of mineral. Not as impressive as the Paul Cluver Chardonnay.

Really rather good. Very clean and light on its feet. No new world butteriness or flab. Quite Puligny. Yum.

South African wines tasting (Le Petit Sommelier) : Clean nose, showing medium intensity, sugar coated fruit, sugar, notes of sweet spices, dried nuts, almond, round and youthful. The wine is dry, medium acidity, round mouthfeel, lively character, sugar coated fruit again, lightly steely feeling, medium+ aftertaste. Very good quality, medium/high price, drinking now but can hold.

Had this one recently at a South Africa wine tasting. Very good effort, strong and classic Chardonnay Reserve for a reasonable price (15€). This Chardonnay has aged for 8 months in small French oak barrels. Very intense nose, showing citrus, almond and vanilla notes. 89 p. Creamy and well structured palate, buttery, almonds, again citrus and vanilla notes. Very good finish. I liked it a lot, really tasty. 90+ p. Something to keep in mind...
