einer der besten Chiantis seit langer zeit und das ein 2010er - perfekte Altersstruktur, noch fruchtig, weiches Tanin, schöne Struktur, noch immer die typische Kirsche - toll - einfach toll - auch noch am 2 Tag!!!!

So happy when I recently found a source for 3 more bottles of this fantastic 2010 CC Gran Selezione. Ripe cherry, tobacco, well worked leather, and dried herbs. Still has 3+ years of good life in it but now well into it's peak drinking window.

Sangiovese Study (chicago, IL) : Nose: The nose is balanced and pure with plums, sour red cherries, strawberries, licorice, salami, crushed rocks, violets, rose petals, and perfumes. There is good depth with a lot of classic Sangiovese characteristics. Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with crisp, medium+ acidity and silky, medium+ tannins. The structure has pulled back and the feel is balanced with tones of plums, sour red cherries, strawberries, licorice, salami, crushed rocks, and rose petals. Overall: This is …

I’ve been this winery so I am biased because I love the place. Beautiful historical setting...but the wine delivers! Medium ruby color turning slightly lighter in the edge. Rose petals, cherry kirsch and spice on the nose. Palate follows with medium body, bing cherry and spice. Pretty tannic still but well integrated at 10 years. A very good wine. Well recommended.

Second of these and perhaps served a little warmer on this hot May evening, this tastes fuller than my recollection of the last bottle. Lovely big savoury nose that follows through on the palate tasting both ripe and well evolved. There's good acidity and tannin but they marry well with the fruit and savoury elements to create a very moreish combination. Classic Chianti that's a pointe but with a few years left on the clock.

Given a short decant. Quite pale with gentle bricking at the rim. The nose is all bitter cherries, very refreshing. It's very easy on the palate, brimming with bitter cherries and perhaps a hint of tobacco. There's still some tannin and plenty of acidity. Ok, so this doesn't have the intensity or complexity of a Riserva but this is a very quaffable Chianti that's fully ready but in no immediate danger of falling over.

the best Chianti Classico including the Gran Selezione that I've ever drank. Drank like an aged Brunello. Dusty red cherries, well worn saddle leather, fresh leaves of tobacco. Great mouthfeel, long finish, and well integrated and smooth tannins. The Gran Selezione classification was approved in Feb of 2014, but it allowed for wines starting from 2010 to have this classification if the wines met the aging requirements. Glad to have 1 more!

During a Chianti Classico Gran Selezione tasting dinner. Medium-light garnet. Expressive nose of dark fruit, red fruit with some chocolate, modern. Well balanced medium bodied palate with good structure. On the modern side but not in a disturbing way.

Nose has plenty of dark fruit with a touch of new leather and cocoa. Tastes of dark fruit (blackberries) with soft tannins. Really nice paired with a summer steak salad with gorgonzola crumbles yet would stand up to a heartier meal.

Eye: dark purple in the glass, dark bordeaux-red at the rim Nose: fruit-filled, a bit of leather Palate: medium-bodied, with a touch of sweetness and almost no tannins. In my opinion a little bit too soft and sweet - too mediocre. Good wine, but not very special.

Loved this. Much more oak than your typical CC but I like that so I loved the wine. Heavy and flavorful for a meat sauce on your pasta or maybe an osso buco or something. Highly recommended by WS and I agree totally.

1st of 6. decanted for 30 mins and drunk with fillet steak. Opened up pretty quickly. Nice ruby red colour, earthy aromas with a whiff of gasoline(?). On the palate sour cherries and violets held together with a velvety core. Pinch of spice on the finish. Not particularly structured or complex but a polished performance and was going well after the food was finished. Could get better. Like this a lot.

ruby color, slightly turning to purple. Plum, leather and cherry on the nose. Very smooth tannins, drinking very nicely now. will consume last bottle within next 1½ years. would not wait for 2+ years. A lot nicer now than the ones I had earlier.

This is a Nice Treat! A little spice on the start and full of berries. Paired nice with cheese & raspberries. Should be great with our lasagna too!

Bright red and blue fruits, just ripe, nicely taut, dry, and tangy on the palate, slightly dusty as it should be. Excellent for the money, and the merlot/syrah doesn't ruin it, they seem to have used a light hand with vinifying those grapes.

Delicious cherry and plums. Earthy , leather and spice. When first opened it was too earthy with wood but decanted and with an hour it is very pleasant to drink.

NR as not sure if this bottle was flawed. Very strong earth (not cellar) and leather on the nose. no sign of red berries or cherry. Most of us trying it found it unpleasant on the nose, but none had any problem with taste, though it's slightly limited, too.

Clean, red fruit nose, with a hint of provincial herbs. Open, bright cherry fruit palate, acidic and vibrant, it's a simple wine, but food friendly and has a modicum of herbal complexity.
