Mazzocco Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley

For a 38-year old wine that should have been over the hill years ago, this was drinkable. This was the first drinkable bottle of a group of about a dozen bottles vintage 1982-1993 from a friend’s widow, although one 1982 Valley of the Moon Cabernet Sauvignon has turned into a beautiful vinegar! We poured 5 bottles of various producers, all Cabernet Sauvignon, to find one drinkable wine. Most of the corks were brittle, the ullage on several was not good.
