Also stunning. Insane staying power an drive. Huge density but also lifted and precise. Rich, dense, light gold fruit. More fruity than '12 Coche Perrieres alongside?

Not blind D'Auvenay is something else. You have the feeling No matter which site, no matter which vintage it always delivers at highest level. Unique style not too reductive but this of roasted popcorn is going to your mind and stays there for a long time. 99

Another great bottle. Very reductive and needed lots of air. Big and powerful.

Youthful with incredible intensity. Reductive and minerally. Power and weight with tons of acidity. Great wine.

Explosive nose with popcorn, caramel, flint, perfume, and peach. Rich and powerful with carmelized yellow fruit. Although the mid palate lacked substantial weight, it was still truly alluring.

Decanted to serve. Citrus, cream soda, flint, and gun powder. Still very young but lots of potential. The underlying material was not fully opened up. But the laser focus acidity showed how promising the wine is.

Honey, popcorn, caramel and nuts. Super sexy with above prem cru substance. Vibrant acidity. Super alluring and sexy. Possibly the best narvaux I had.

Rodger Arai. Another top wine, but not as much fruit and roundness as Folatieres. Guessed that was grand cru and this was 1er. Can feel it's a bit lighter on palate. (1661/2029)

This was sensational start to finish. Massive reduction and sulphur on the nose, ripe open golden tropical fruit. Clean cut and fresh, great acidity and minerality shapes the huge mouthful of delicious yellow fruit. Endowed and well built. Clean, pure, fresh. It’s always amazing how big these wines are. Powerful and means business. 95-96.

Fantastic wine. The nose starts with a fair amount of sulphur and calls for generous aeration. Classic and intense d’Auvenay notes of pop-corn and grilled nuts on parade. Ripe citrus and tons of minerals. It makes you think “Why drink any other wine?” Quite tannic mouthfeel. No rush to drink. 97 points on personality, but I rated the wine. Buy if you can find (and afford nowadays).

Oh my. What a wonderful example of perfectly aged white burgundy. Ripe and forward on the plate with plenty of fruit, buttered popcorn notes, white mushroom, and a nice streak of acidity. This drank well from beginning to finish.

Still the 'old' bottles, same as Leroy SA, with standard capsule - later she started using the heavier bottles. Wine smell on opening was slightly sulphuric - disappeared after half an hour. Left bottle open for six hours but did not decant. Smell still quite mineral - taste fully open, ripe fruits, but not overripe. Compared with Ramonet Batard-Montrachet 1994. The Leroy had a smoother more accessible taste - Drank with tuna and foie gras. Magnificent effort - can probably …
