Two prior bottles of this one were good. This bottle was flawed....undrinkable. It had even changed colors. The cork seemed fine. I hope this is a single bottle issue, as I have three left. I opened the other three bottles last night (12/21/2021). All were undrinkable. All three corks broke in two and were saturated at the lower end. Out of the three Chardonnay�s in Weston�s Montagu lineup, I think this one comes in last, simply because the Ritchie and Heintz are some of my all time favorite vineyards. Durell is very well known and without a doubt high quality. After having the 2016 Montagu Ritchie about two weeks ago, I wanted to check in on another 2016. I find the alcohol level a distraction. Mind you it's not more than a comparable wine. Other than that, this is enjoyable. Lots of fruit (Apple and tropical) and tasty oak and caramel. A wine for JeffNy1.
