Wine was in bottle too long

My first bottle of this vintage, Oh this is nice! Young but packed with dark fruits, spice box and a nice tannin backbone. The nose was full yet soft of the fruit and spices. In the glass its dark and inky and on the palate its rich and smooth even at this young age. Dark cherry, bramble, leather, spice and an ever so slight sweet herbal finish. Too big, overblown and jammy fruit. Smoky, raisiny fruit overwhelms and dominates the palate. Spicy on the finish with leather, tar but finish can't stand up to over extracted fruit on the front.

Young. Very deep but these single vineyards need a great deal of time. Decanted for 2+ hours and was still very drinkable. Patience required.

Good fruit, light tannins for a cab but good body with nice finish.

SIGHT: Clear, bright, medium garnet with layers of salmon to bright orange meniscus. Medium+ concentration and viscocity. NOSE: clean, cassis, spice, bramble, blackberry, blueberry, huckleberry, raspberry, cedar, dill. PALATE: dry, blackberry, cassis, leather, tobacco, licorice. ASSESSMENT: Medium alcohol, medium to medium+ acidity. Medium+ tannins, Medium to medium+ complexity. Medium+ finish. Tannins still pretty heavy, but it's drinking really well right now.

This was consumed during a night with many different cabs so no specific notes or score. I had expected this to a be a little more fruit forward but it seemed to be a little muted. It's possible that I had some palate fatigue. It didn't wow but nothing much to complain about either.

Pretty good; lots of fruit, tar graphite. Not as good day 2.

Consistent tn's. Very slight note of tca on night one, mostly gone on night two. 14,2% abv, approx $64, drink through 2017.

Opened on Wednesday, re-corked, served on Thursday. Bright red and black fruits on the nose with pencil lead, and graphite in the background. A lovely mid-palate expression with fine-grained tannins that are still a bit tight at this point. Hold for 1-2 more years and enjoy this well-balanced, full-bodied and very polished effort. Approx $65, drink thru 2013 (note: I don't see the structure for long-term cellaring).

Glunz Wines Winter Portfolio tasting (union league club, chicago IL) : nose: a bit tight, but still good tones of red cherries, black fruits, cedar, and red and black currants. Cabernet: Summer Session / Silver Oak Day (wine Exchange) : 14.2% ETOH. bit more cherry and a hint of plastic compared to the 04' out of sight. slightly better balance and mouthfeel.
