Barnyard funk on the hose and early palate, opens nicely and finishes quite well. Paired nicely with cassoulet.

Concerned I had let it go too long. I loved it dark and full bodied. Berry fruit on my tongue. It still had some tannin. Lovely. Had with wine braised chicken thigh.

Overpowering some years ago, it has mellowed significantly and pleasantly in its maturity. Deliciously

shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. this bottle was withdrawn from my private cellar stash at Novita which will soon be closing. the wine is packaged in a large and heavy bottle which makes it appear to be a magnum. this wine is a blend of 60% malbec and 40% bonarda. the wine is very robust. dark color. lots of dark berry fruit. full bodied. medium finish. i like everything that the …

Dark juice, fairly aromatic. First taste impression is of plums and how smart I was in buying it. Tannins integrated and smooth now with a medium/long finish.

Really enjoyed this wine! Velvet notes which remind me of marigold. Wood (oak) and rich dark plum.

Yum, yum, YUM! And that was just the first smell. I won't repeat all the other well-written tasting notes posted, but I will echo the enjoyment of this wine. I will add, though, that this is one that I would have liked to have tried a year ago. As much as I like my wines properly aged, I am curious as to what the fruit would have tasted like a bit younger. I have a 2011 that I will not …

inky purple with a nose of vibrant lavendar and dark berries. Plush and round in the mouth with tastes of blueberries, vanilla, and hints of blackberry. The finish is long with lingering blueberry. The bonarda adds some backbone to the softness of the malbec.

A nose of dark jammy fruit, dark black in color. A big full bodied blend, not for Old World fans. A big wine, plum, black cherry, chocolate and spice with toasted oak, a good value. www.winelx.com

Lots of Mint and raspberries, very funky (in a good way) wine. This Bonarda/Malbec blend is not your normal Argentine wine, but is sure to impress. Great with a Lamb Asado or Wild Boar Ragu.

I never got dirty socks out of this like someone else did. I actually thought it was quite nice. Now the past two bottles we had at my wife's office party with people who know absolutely nothing about wine so I'm not going to break the bank here. I picked the two wines based on qpr and this did the job. Lacking depth and complexity and very one dimesional. But it was a nice malbec that people could appreciate and …

Project by Ernesto Catena (son of Nicolas "Catena') who says he wants to craft wines in a more hedonistic style. I didn't get that from the Patriota. Nose was a bit closed off, butthe palate was certainly dense and chewy from the Bonarda. Malbec gave some cherry and cola notes. A very good wine but was expecting a bit more of a fruit bomb. Only 13.8% too.

More research for our trip to Mendoza. Opaque purple. Nose of oak, blueberry, plum, and licorice. Ripe palate of dark fruit, blueberry, licorice, and vanilla. Very good length. Silky texture. 60% Malbec. 40% Bonarda. Very good QPR.

Pleasantly surprised. Well structured and full bodied for the $. Didn't keep notes, but recall a nice flavor/nose profile, although air time was needed to release it. Tannin still firm. Enjoyed it as a weekday sipper.

Fruit forward with some balance. This wine needs time to open. Set aside for an hour at least. Too punchy out of the cork

Opened last night and ignored the previous recommendations to decant and wait. Upon opening, the flavor was muted and flat...opened up over the next hour+. Getting better over time, the complexity started to show with oaky, plum, dark fruits, and for me, a consistent S. American earthy aroma. The flavor was consistent with the aroma, but would have liked to see more fruit versus oak transfer. Agree with previous poster this was 4-5 points better the second day. If I …

Talk about a tale of two halves! Opened this yesterday and even after a 30+min decant it was so-so; very flat and shallow malbec and bonarda flavors, seemed lacking. Had the last glass today and it was like a totally different wine. Raspberry-creme and plum on the nose; cranberry and curant on the palete with nice toasty oak. A bit of a sweet tinge, but really enjoyable. I would highly recommend letting this breathe a ton before drinking, it changed …
