Heavy crust. Poured clear. Beginning to brown at the rim, but otherwise strong red colour. Blackberry and slate nose. Palate had dark fruits, beef blood, and maybe a hint of coffee. A strong performance for a wine that is, probably, past its prime.

Tar, tobacco, ripe cherries and a fair whack of alcohol (15%). Beautiful deep red colour, almost purple. Firm tannins. Could probably go another 3 years at least.
