I suspect this is too young and I failed to give this enough time. I decanted for 30 minutes and it never really opened up over 3 more hours. I’ll try the next bottle in 2028.

Ridiculous PB, I never even thought that PB can be aged, but Terlan has the terroir that makes it happen and after 16 years it just entered drinking window and will be growing for another 15+ years. Gently pressed whole clusters, aged on its lees in used large barrels for 12 months, later aged in stainless steel for 11 years, bottled in 2021 unfined and unfiltered. Medium lemon colour. Intense aroma of preserved lemons, petrol, peaches, quince, nutty hints. Medium+ …

Dinner at Ecco , St Moritz (Ecco , St Moritz) : A the start of its journey but what a pretty wine nonetheless and at par with the terroir and style that for us make some of the best whites from anywhere. Less sharp and mineral, round , polished, very aromatic wine, creamy and with impressive length . Beautiful as expected and an easy 93 even at this young ( for a Terlan) age.

One of 3340 bottles and finally after 2 poor shows over the last few years ( we actually lost faith on this vintage) we came across this ( our last) bottle all healthy and singing only like a Terran Rarita does. This is the first vintage of the modern era ( since they stopped bottling the Chardonnay (why?????) and was very rewarding. Rich, well evolved, soft noble oxidation, honey touches and well round. Definitely on the older side but every …

One of 3340 bottles , the second in a row we have that is off, oxidised this time and we wonder wether the Pinot Bianco can last. The Chardonnays last for ever but sadly they don’t make them any more. Painful .

3rd time we had this wine and on this occasion the bottle was a bit tired and a bit too evolved. IN 2016 we rated this 91 , then in 2018 93 and now would rate no more than 90 . Shame this wasnt so alive and was fully evolved and lacked a charm and was almost difficult. Maybe badly kept.. We have 2 more bottles hiding and hope about. No rating this time but would not be above 90 …

Superb and definitely a lot better than 2 years ago ( Papies 91) From open this is a very elegant wine, floral nose, light peach , soft grassy undertone but really the major feel is of white flowers and stone fruits . On the palate its bright, mineral, round and very welcoming with lots of complexity. Another superb Terlan wine, for us our favourite white wines of Italy . 93-94 and with life ahead but drinks so good now.

2016 Sella Ronda Ski Trip; 1/21/2016-1/24/2016 (Alta Badia, Italy) : No decanting. Young and fresh, mineral, light grassy, herby wine. Good acidity and depth but in a way it's a bit linear and not of the level we expected from a rarita ( we are big lovers of the Chardonnay Rarita which to us is probably the best Italian white wine) but still a wine of purity and elegance. Maybe it needs time to develop as the Chardonnays if we …

A very interesting wine, which gave new perspectives on pinot blanc for me. It shows a lot of hay, grass and meadowy herbal notes. Perhaps a bit of spruce as well and some ripe lemon. Creamy, almost oily in the mouth, before it explodes in an electrifying, supercharged finish. The shift from creamy to acidity driven is a bit disjointed perhaps, but this is a complex and very enjoyable wine, which I think will benefit from some more bottle age. …
