Tasted like bloody steak rubbed in french herbs right after opening. That mellowed out after a bit of time to breath in the decanter revealing mushroom, red fruit, and some vegetal notes. I really enjoyed this. One of the most aged wines I've tried. Makes me want more.

I feel like this could have gone a while yet, and even improved. Nose tight still - blueberry, blackberry, olive. Palate still quite tannic, good fruit, roast meat, but not overdone. Yes, it's a tad warm for my palate - but no California oriented glop. Rustic, even smoky. Burly. But right for appelation. Not precisely in love, but I respect a lot, and like it.

Strong, tannic, drying. 14%. Fun and pleasant to drink. Like a rustic Saint Emilion. Good stuff, but prepare yourself. Still drinking well. Drink up in the next year or two.

Very drinkable now. Good dark fruits, soft tannins. Not so much oak / tobacco etc. Nice , easy drinking!

Huge wine. 14% but tastes like 15+. Motor oil, stone. Great nose.

Popped with dinner- Was surprised to be hit with the alcohol immediately, but that dissipated as the wine opened. Rich and ripe fruit, fairly voluptuous, in fact. Lots of dark fruit - blackberry and blueberry, some earth and graphite. Greenish vegetal notes as well. Enjoyed this - didn't think it would be as interesting as it was for the $.

This needs decanting for at least 3 hours. The Cab Franc dominates, even at 15%. Adds vegetal characteristics. Dark fruit flavors. Merlot adds some voluptuousness. Will easily last to 2025.

Blind tasting of Grand Cercle wines 2011 vintage: Part III (Château Bellefont-Belcier) : Ripe blackberry and plum on the nose. The palate has juice, concentration, just slightly stern tannins and a stern like finish, but this is likely a question of timing… Nice job overall. Quite serious wine.

Was expecting something special, but it had no real flavour.

Far too tannic with no fruit coming through. Didn't taste musty or corked. Wouldn't buy this again.

From 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, the wine reached 14% alcohol. Round, open and forward, sweet jammy cherry and stone make up the wine’s personality. 84-86 Pts
