12.5abv, beautiful young fresh red hue. Pnp, aroma of cherry, san zha, jam, floral. Red fruit, blackberries, vanilla on palate, and also developed some sea salinity, cocoa, fragrant wood later. Smooth tannin, light body. but having a strong acidic backbone at the same time, even a bit vinegar. Good complexity for a village. Still very fresh and purely fruity after opened for 6h in the bottle + 1h in the glass. Tomato, pomegranate, black cherry, blood, a bit vegetal note. …

Deep and seductive aromas waft from the glass immediately after pouring. Scents I get from this wine include a strong ocean salinity (think ocean breaking on limestone rock on a hot day). I know that’s very specific but it reminds me of how the cliffs in Palos Verdes or Malibu smell on July when it’s 90+ degrees. I also get a freshness in this wine that brings me back to those cliffs. Really beautiful expression of Gevrey-Chambertin. Not that much oak, very pure and clean fruit. And a nose that gets you from afar. Medium tranparent ruby color. Powerful nose of raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, violets, insence, mixed spice, exotic wood and some game. On the palate, this needs time to come together. Same fruit profile, game, river stones and delicate oak. Medium finish. This would be 94 for me but I bumped it up a point just for the nose.
