Color: Light yellow. Nose: Flint stone, juice from canned pine apples. Mouth: Rather light. Very good expressiveness and length. Very juicy and lean. Bone-dry. Only 12% alc. A hint of grapefruit in the finish.

Terrific little dry Riesling, certainly much better than the undeserved low scores the other commenters have given it. Dry Rieslings are kind of an acquired taste, one that I've only recently discovered. I'm happy to say that the other 5 tasters I enjoyed this with, all wine lovers but not necessarily aficionados, agreed that they liked the wine. Perfect as an aperitif.

Simple Riesling, lacking depth. A few off notes for me, like sour fruit, sour apple. Not a fan of this. We ended up using most of it as a cooking wine.

The pear was really prounounced on this bottle with an almost cordial-like concentration followed by heaps of elderflower and lime. There is a real earthiness to this Riesling that takes you from great heights of fruit to something deep and profound. Unfortunately the acidity has become a bit reticent to balance this earthiness, which for me is a shame as it would add an extra dimension of freshness.

Just acidity and neutral hints of fruit. Knep in cellar a year or two and hope for that magic to happening. ..

Mineral, citrus nose. Some rubber. Palate is very dry, high acid, lean, steely, a bit tough. Citrus, grapefruit, mineral, stone, crushed rocks. I think some residual sugar on this could work well.

Delicious dry-style Riesling with a real green apple and lime zest quality. Hints of elderflower, pear, and a sharp mineral edge. Still very young, will improve. An ideal aperitif or match with crab.

Clear pale lemon with slight watery green fluctuation towards the rim. Legs slow and quite thick though well defined and shapely. On the nose, pithy lemon, yellow grapefruit, under ripe apricot and unripe yellow plum. Hints of herbs, lemon thyme/balm, with a touch of new lylo and some mineral salts. Similar palate, lemon pith and under ripe stone fruit, crisp acidity, taut quartzy/steeliness. Lingering honeysuckle on the mid palate going into the finish with a decent length. I found this …

Honey, lime. banana. For a basic Qba trocken this is really good. Can't get exited about it though, but that's more when comparing to the other Leitz bottles on offer tonight.

Made from a blend of Leitz 3 top vineyards. Intense aromas of honey and tropical fruit. Lively acidity, pure clean fruit, minerality, great concentration and a lovely balanced finish. Could really become sensational for a wine priced about 20 USD! Strongly recommended.

Tasted together with von Winnings trocken 2013 and Kung-Fu Girl. This scored highest and was most approachable despite its young age. Semi-dry only. Very nice but no wow factor.

Nice, if unexceptional, with crisp acidity and citrus and tropical fruit notes. This drinks a bit more like a Sauvignon Blanc than a traditional reisling, perhaps driven by the dry style.

Medium lemon, relatively viscous @12% abv. Medium-medium(+) aromas of tropical fruits, petrole, lemon. Dry, medium-medium(+) acidity, medium body and alcohol. Medium flavors of lemon, rhubarb, green apple. Medium length racy and crispy finish. For a riesling the acidity and texture is substantial, at the expensive of elegance.

Decent and good value for what it is. Simple mineral nose, maybe a bit of lime. Decent finish. Among the better trocken QBA's. But doesn't compare well to my recent experience with Donnhoff's trocken QBA for only a few dollars more, which changed my attitude toward trocken QBAs.

To much carbonic acid that overwhelmed the wine. Should have aerated it more. Fresh and crisp. Scent of citrus and pears. Dry taste with hints of pears, citrus and concentrated fruitiness.

Dry Riesling wines (Houston, TX) : Savory aromas with some peach fruit, followed up by granny smith apples, lemon and peach pit on the palate. Good QPR for a Rheingau riesling though lacking some complexity.

Only had a glass of this in a restaurant this week and although it was neither particularly memorable nor impressive, it clearly is a nice, well-made bone-dry example of good value German Riesling with nice grapefruit and lime notes, good acidity and a great mineral backbone. Great with food.

I liked this less and less as we drank it. Not a bad Riesling by any stretch, but nothing interesting to me. Grapefruit and tart apple. The wife noticed a touch of effervescence at first. Decent with food. (Best with a tiny hint of fennel seeds and cumin seeds toasted last night.)

WXTP Tasting IV - 2010 and 2011 German QbA Rieslings (Brad's Place) : Not bad. This showed a refreshing nose of grapefruit, lime and slate, with a hint of fresh flowers and a nice minerally touch. It was bone dry on the palate and very steely, with an almost metallic minerality and bright acids racing through simple white fruit and citrus flavours. With time, a touch of stone-fruit peeked out as well, finishing in a mouthwatering back-palate. Quite simple, a …
