Dark fruit flavor with good complexity. Tannins very well integrated. We decanted for a little bit but not long and still thought it was ready.

Deep clear garnet with a tiny ruby core. Black raspberries on the nose. Sweetish red berry notes with black tea notes followed by a mulberry note in the finish. Not bad - better with food .

Nose of chargrilled bread, slight tones of oak on the nose but well integrate. Plush red fruit with good freshness. Drink over the next 5-10 years.

Disappointingly flavorless and I'm a big fan of the grape especially the area. Perhaps past its prime significantly but 5 years for this grape should be drinking perfectly

Beautiful nose of oak, leather, vanilla. Extremely tannic, minimal acidity. Plum notes, with an odd flatness to it. Believe this is nowhere near peak. Night two was a complete 180* though. The same great nose but the tannins have pulled back just a bit to reveal some plum and leather. Delicious with pizza

Very powerful, dark, imposing wine. A fair bit of complexity that is hard to get to, given that there is a lot of tannin and a ton of black fruit.

Mjuk tobak, lingon, plommon och svartpeppar. Fyllig och söt smak, inte alls sträv som man väntar sig. Fet, tjock mat ”murriga smaker”, svamp.

Tasted blind. Purple fruits. Subdued oak. Some minerality. Palate was medium plus and there were significant tannins but little acid. Entry was nice but the midpalate and finish did not hold up without any acid. I guessed califoria bdx varietal made in an old world style but not too surprised when the bag came off. Decent wine but probably wouldn't buy again.

Flat, lacking both fruit and acidity. Maybe bottle variation but quite disappointed with this.

Big, bold and chewy. Good structure with firm tannins. Blackberries, cherries with some spice, cassis, vanilla and oak. Decant for 30 minutes.

Brought this to dinner with my wine group at a Turkish Restaurant. This followed a 2015 TOR and then the 2018 Stags' Leap Winery Petite Sirahs. Compared to them, this was much more restrained, and elegant. A different wine to be sure, but just as enjoyable.

I've been eyeing this for the past year. Finally took the plunge. Hard to describe, deep plum/blue bright fruit on the palate, slight oak but silky. A little one dimensional but enjoyable. Bottom line, different from anything I've had in awhile. Would be interesting to try in a few years because the fruit is still very young, tasted more like it was 2 years old.

2nd of 3 bottles purchased directly from Ridge. Part of a Christmas Eve dinner at Turkish restaurant with my wine group. It was the final wine of the night, and for me, it was the 2nd favorite. Dark color, long finish, full bodied. Ridge always seems to overdeliver on their non-Cabernet wines!

Decanted for 30 minutes prior to tasting. Incredibly inky dark purple color. And I do mean “purple”; meaty nose. Deeply rich and concentrated, with gobs of dark black fruit. Substantial mouthfeel with lots of savory umami notes of leather, tar, tobacco and roast meat. This wine is big! That said, the tannins are restrained and as a result it is approachable now, but it should improve for another 8-10 years. This is a solid effort with what has been a …

Vin jeune avec une robe violacée. Un nez de framboise, confiture de bleuet, prune, beaucoup de prune, cerises noires et tabac. Une bouche puissante, longue, avec des tanins fermes. On peut l'attendre encore !

Pop and pour at a restaurant. Leather and tobacco with a dry finish right out of the bottle. At first, tannins were very firm, but with some air they loosened-up and finish was softer. Flavors developed into earth/wet stone and ripe dark stone fruit. On the back end got some barrel along with burnt toffee. As the bottle label on the back said, it was built to age, and it could use some more time to sit. The wine is …

Deep, dark, purple garnet in color; nearly opaque. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with lovely overtones of spice notes of pepper, earthy/dusty, floral notes of violets, cocoa, anise, tobacco, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, dense, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with spices, bittersweet cocoa, herbs, minerals, spices & oak/vanilla. …

Quite nice. This was a small amount of a 3rd day sample. Big black fruits and while the tannin was prominent seemed relatively polished for the variety. Still shows considerable structure. Best to hold

Drinks well in late 2022. The wine looks purple colored. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like black pepper. It tastes like blackberry, black pepper and oak. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium.
