Big wine Merlot softens the Cabernet seems to be drinking very well now Petit Verdot give it some nice deep color. Wine is very together and will probably last another three maybe four years before peaking. Always great fruit from the Los Piedras vineyards.

Drank over 2 nights w lamb chops nite 1 and sausage 1. Very good wine.great fruit and body. Like the other Chappelets its needs time to open up, so decant. Elegant wine!

This has improved since my last bottle more than a year ago. The tannins are much smoother and the fruit profile seems more linear. Layers of red fruits, cassis, licorice with a hint of chocolate followed by a strong acidic backbone and just a hint of tannins on the medium-plus finish. The alcohol is over 15% but it isn't really noticeable when we popped and poured directly from our cellar (54 degrees).

One of my favorite Chappellet wines... Not available if not in wine club, but delicious and dark fruit flavors. Just goes so well with just about anything "meaty"

The 2009 Las Piedras translating to "the rocks" is Spanish, doses out lots of gorgeous dark fruits along with spices, floral, leather, pipe tobacco and beautiful fresh earthy minerals. This is full-bodied and rich with supple, yet very firm tannins providing the structure and support. Riveting and seductive all the way through the ultra-long chewy finish that keeps pumping out loads of fresh dark fruits. 93 POINTS
