Slightly richer and more refined than previous tastings. Very good.

Plush, seemingly entering maturity right now. Round, blackberry and blueberry fruit. Good complexity, and delicate spice and floral notes, most notably a distinctive, dusty cinnamon note on the nose shortly after opening. This bottling from Yalumba has been highly reliable for a awhile, and fairly priced, in my opinion.

This was a very rich Shiraz (blended with a little Viognier); deep purple in color, black liquor, blackberry and other berry fruit (I couldn't pin it down), cinnamon, but a buttery richness, very smooth but Spicy - overall balanced and very drinkable. Very interesting wine which tasted different than the last bottle drunk 11 months ago (out of my cellar). I look forward to trying this again in the next few months.

Another great value from Australia, definite wine of the night, very spicy and a little hot upon opening decanted for 2 hours and it became much more balanced. With a little shelf life this wine will be even better.

I love the pure unadulterated huge Shiraz' but my wife loves those that are blended down a bit - hence her insistence that this wine get a 91 - and in fact it is an excellent wine, (if a more refined Shiraz is your bag!)

looks like this wine is coming out of a slump, that last few bottles were not as good as on release. but i think this will drink well for another year or so, then....i would drink it now. still blackberries and jam, but not so pungent and powerful anymore. it has shed its babyfat. the sweet oaky tannins are starting to intergrated more and the spicy is not as sharp.

From 84 day 1 to 88 day 2. Was tough and chewy when opened but really mellowed on day 2. Nice boquet and finish

A fat luscious aussie with all the elements you would expect right in place. deep purple in color, black liquor, blackberries, cinnamon, with butter fat smoothness. medium weight, a proud wine but not over top, balanced, delicious. A nice spicyness burst on the scene, but is quickly tammed by the Voignier leaving just a fantastic aftertaste full of sweet tannins. and all this for 24 bucks!!! this wine drinks like a bottle twice its price.
