Waipara Hills Wine Estate Sauvignon Blanc

Orange zest on the nose. Light acidity, good length with some minerality.

Fragrant fresh guava and ripe sweet pears. Lovely clean, pure and crisp. This is even lovelier than when I last had it. There was more depth and length, seemingly taking on deeper and more mellow fruit flavours in exchange for a large chunk of its grassiness. Textbook NZ at its best! The bottle age seemed to have done it some good. Goes extremely well with sashimi.

NobleRottersSydney - NZTrip - Hawkes Bay(2) : {screwcap, 12%, NZ$19} Soft and floral, with a greenish aspect to the nose. Fruity and almost oily on the palate; yet light-bodied, no obvious residual sugar. Interesting, and should hold for a few years.

Am sure all my WADE frens that were at the dinner remembered this wine as.... GUAVA! Guava nose, guava taste and guava finish! Fresh and easy to understand. Easy wine to pair here..we had this with the appetizers.
