Goldschmidt Vineyard Pinot Noir Boulder Bank

New World Blind Tasting Group $25+ (Bin 75) : Much lighter extraction than previous, reddish orange core with very pale rim; sour cherry, griotte, smoky, cranberry; high acid, sour fruit, fresh, not mineral driven; ok; said it was either diluted Oregon or Marlborough Pinot Noir.

Big aromas of strawberries and spice. Unripe (bitter?) berries, smoke and a short spicy finish.

Light ruby center, fading to light orangeish hue, then clear edge. Strawberry and tea scented. Taste the strawberry (not jammy or very ripe) and a bit of tea/spice. Finishes with minerality and a bit of acid, lingers a bit. Enjoyable. Recommended. (I usually like and drink pinot from California Central Coast and Sonoma Coast and haven't had much NZ or Australian pinot before and thought this was an interesting change.)

Very light color, nose of white tea and red fruits, follows through on palate with strawberry, touch of cherry. Finish is a bit short. Pleasant and does a better job with food than the individual components would suggest.

Floral nose. Light color. Sharp. New Zealand

Solid pinot with bright cherries and a little earth, but a little too one-note. It'd be great for $15.
