Truchard Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve

Still drinking very well at this ripe old age. After seeing the estimated life expectancy I was braced for a dull, washed out wine but was greeted by a wine which is still holding up really well. I never had a younger version so I don't know if it ever was a grand wine but it was still really good with our steak tonight.

Drinking well but would not push it past this year...

Nice food wine at this point. The finish was a little weak but the wine had matured nicely.

Beautiful cabernet, though I thought the 2004 and 2005 Truchard reserves were a little better. Nonetheless, I would still recommend this as a great cab with a thick steak (I paired with filet mignon and yukon gold mashed potatoes).

Dark and rich Napa/Caneros bottling. I received this as a gift, and I must say it was a good time to open. It was clear flavors, and paired well with a steak. Could not have had a great belnd of Dark Black Cherry, Cola, and eucolyptus. It sang later in the evening with a greater clarity of fruit. Cherry Cola, and vanila became the primary. There was Oak, but it was not prominent. Not sure we can find more, but …
