It's fun to see a lot more excitement from the community than from the professionals on this wine. I concur w/the community. Forceberry's notes are especially in agreement with my view. An exciting and distinctive wine, showing waxy melon, subtle oak, and a hint of smoke. Complex and lively on the palate, with excellent cut and drive, though a touch lean at the center. Balanced and full of character.

A classical Aligoté, energetic and fresh, quite powerful and flavoursome for the vintage, everything as it should be, steely acidity and creamy lemon fruit, delicious. Outshines both the 2019 and 2020.

Delicious wine. Lovely roundedness to the fruit, no doubt some of the very deft skin contact adding to texture, but in service to the fruit. Tasted against Comte Armand Aligoté 2019.

Camille Thiriet Tasting and Dinner (Restaurant Petit Caron, Amsterdam, NL) : Remarkably powerful for such a cool vintage, in your face, hint of reduction, marvellous acidity and energy, explosive nose, the best of the four vintages tasted today.

Austere, classic, nice aligoté but not very fresh or energetic, EDIT much more open on day 3, mangos and peach gummies, wait or decant!! Bumped to 91 from 90

Shiny but pale; dashing bouquet, linear, citrussy, wet stones; intense focus, heightened acidity, well weighted, mouthfilling; driven, thrilling finish. Is it on the upslope or downslope.

this was a little mild on the palate at first, and in fact bland and boring. Nose showed a little toast but not much more interesting than that.

100% organically farmed Aligoté Doré from a very old vineyard in Pommard and a younger (70-yo) parcel in Comblanchien. Fermented spontaneously, macerated for 3 days on skins. Aged for 1 year in oak. 12,5% alcohol. Total production 4195 bottles. Pale, limpid lemon-yellow color. The nose feels rich, sweetish and subtly wild with aromas of peachy stone fruit, some honeydew melon, a little bit of creamy oak, light phenolic spicy nuances, a hint of ripe Golden Delicious apple, a touch of …

Mix of sweet and sharp aromas of candied blood orange, crisp apple, and lemon oil. Got that mineral depth to the nose. On the palate, much more apple and white stonefruit dominant with the bitterness of lemon peels on the finish. Quite complex and interesting to stick with over time. Slight popcorn and malo textural feel too. A confident but understated energy to the acidity and very good length. Opens up with air, better on day 2.

Pale color. Domination of pure scent of cool mineral over ripe white stone fruits. Almost Chablis like nose. There seems to be a cool breeze on the palate while the white stone fruits lurking in the background with lingering cool white flowers scents/taste floating in layers. Lots of acidity to balance loads of fine minerality backbone. Quite long cool mineral finish.

La Paulée de Los Angeles Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - Santa Monica CA) : Walkaround tasting. Bright, lean and slightly nervous lemon throughout. Good+ weight for its level. Good now.

Round and smooth Aligote, mineral and fruity flavours, piercing and lively well integrated acidity, aged for 12 months in used oak. Pale lemon colour. Medium+ intensity clean aroma of flint, lemon peel, white wild flowers, pears. Full body, rich and powerful with silky, soft and round texture, elegant structure, medium+ crisp, pleasantly tight and tart acidity, seamless smooth finish.

An assemblage from their parcels in Pommard and Corgoloin, macerated on the skins for three days, one year in wood, 12.5% ABV, 4195 bottles produced. The third edition of this wine and the first from a cooler vintage. It expresses the vintage character with confidence and precision. Delightfully light on its feet and energetic, wonderful salinity, fresh and minerally, tight and tart but with sufficient creamy lemon fruit for balance, gentle bitters, very good resonance and length.
