Medium dense dark crimson. cedar, spice and baked cherry nose. Medium to full bodied, sun baked cranberries, pepper, nutmeg, black cherries, grimy tannins, good acid, tar, and a medium to long finish. Always a killer.

Big black fruit, pepper, grippy tannins, but not as in-your-face that might sound. Though, hot and tart, its complexity and balance make this a solid offering that has benefited well from some bottle age.

Still has some fruit on the mid-palate. Excessive bret/barnyard/basement. Not quite flawed but close. Unenjoyable.

Medium dry, medium to full bodied, predominantly sakura plum, raisins. Simple and pleasantly elegant, easy gentle palate and silky texture. This wine has aged nicely, with fine integrated tannins. Long round finish .

Solid Zin. For the money i think this is a good value . Dark fruit , present tannins , licorice , black berry . Very nice. Only complaint is a slightly hollow finish but this may round out with time.

PNP to a very complex wine unlike the typical other DCV zins. This was not a fruit bomb! Subtle raspberry notes initially followed by some sweet cassis and brambles. Not having a very long finish. this was the perfect accompaniment to BBQ chicken and rice.

I liked this pretty well. Minimal nose. Fairly dense - still has fruit but not jammy. Some interesting briar/garrigue-like notes. Very prominent acidity. Not the best structured wine, but I think with the age it might have improved from a typical overly fruit dominated Zin.

If you see it, try it, but don't pay a lot: I grabbed it at an auction for under ten bucks. A relic and remembrance from the glory days of California zin. Excellent condition, polished and juicy, rather muted for a zin. So tasty I wish I could make it my house wine.

Big, fruity wine, unmistakably zin (I was surprised to see that it has 22% petite sirah). Lots of oak, which balances the fruitiness; lots of body too, from the high alcohol. Really good, but you have to be prepared for such a big wine.

95 years old vines average. Bisson ranch is the backbone. All dry creek all old vines, darker, almost to a walnut character in a good way. And a good chunk of Petite Sirah for the same reasons as the Heritage.

Color - Deep Garnet with some ruby hues. Nose - Plum, dark berries. Palate - Exceptionally dry feeling on tongue not sure if is big tannins with combination of the Hungarian oak and maybe a touch of being corked, but nothing on the nose that would indicate is corked. Was a bit off putting. Began to dissipate as it opened up. At first there was very little fruit but that began to show as it opened up with fruit beginning …

(Wine Tasting Club) Dark red with slow legs, no sediment. A hint of menthol and plum aromas, flavors of cherry, chocolate, and cut grass. Medium body with a leathery texture, medium finish and high acidity.

Nose of red cherry, earth, and baked cherry tart, same on the palate, medium/big body, fruit forward, simple, tasty, mouth filling fruit, juicy, in 2 years it will be a better Zinfandel, and a medium/long finish.

Definitely past its peak, however fruit is still present along with layers of tobacco, leather, plum, and earth with a hint of cedar. An interesting Zinfandel that has aged well over 20 plus years.

The years of age have mellowed it a bit but it is still a nice Zinfandel. Had it with a sweet potato and red lentil soup and then with some Raspberry filled cookies. Some briary components

nose - oaky mouth - initial attack of rich fruit which quickly segues to sour berry fruit, followed by big tannins. nice, slightly rustic, and not really what i would expect from 90+ year old vines, (or whatever they claim). Perhaps will get better with bottle age?

Nice work. Not sweet like the old zins used to be. A bit spicy too. I wouldn't call it "thin", I t just wasn't heavy, which was good. More of a pinot weight to i.

This was underwhelming out of the bottle, but after a half hour or so, it opened quite nicely. A little smoke, and flavors of plum, blackberry and earth. Tannins have integrated well, and were smooth. Not the greatest zin, and I'm not sure I couldn't find a better one for this price range, but very good, particularly with mushroom sauce.

I wasnt expecting much out of this bottle but I was mildly surprised. Big nose of creamy raspberries, baking chocolate, black pepper and anise. Pretty silky mouthfeel with a touch of heat. The tannins that are left are drying and chalky. More notes of chocolate which reminds me of ripe grenache or cabernet. Nice balance and not your typical zin but very enjoyable and easy drinking.

Nice, powerfull young Zinfandel. Dark purple color with a nose of red and purple fruit, cocoa, smoke and bramble. Palate coating with firm tannin and nice grip. A medium amount of acidity and not quite as long a finish as I'd like in a wine like this. There is a note of stewed plums on the finish that also detracts for me. 87-88 pts.

Dark purple color, ruby around the rim. Nose of raspberry and vanilla. Getting a lot of spice and some red fruit. This has been open for about 30 minutes, so another hour should do the trick. The fruit is there, just needs time. Full, lush mouth feel and coats the teeth. Longish finish. Good wine. Could evolve into a 90 to 91 pointer with some time.
