Grey Sands Pinot Noir

Agglomerated cork, no seepage. Still in a primary stage of maturity, i recommend keeping this for another 4 years before revisiting. It has a deceptively pretty facade making it quite quaffable but there is structure and enough acidity beyond the well polished fruit to say it will improve rather than just age. Tasmania Unbottled : A little bit of brett and medicinal notes on this. The palate is cleaner, there is interest and a nice restraint to the fruit. Shame that the nose isn't better.

A decidedly complex nose of rhubarb, clove and dried cherry, a dense palate of dark cherry and some spiced raisin fruit that has integrated tannins that are soft yet framing. The wine has excellent length to finish but is still quite primary, with plenty of room for secondary development over the next 4 - 8 years.
