Frankland Estate, Isolation Ridge Riesling, Frankland River

Some kerosene notes on the nose, but not overwhelming. Primary taste is lemons -- really acidic. Some minerals to complete the package. Good but not really outstanding.

Was a bit nervous based on last run of reviews. Sounded like the wine was poured from gas pump. Overwhelming kerosene notes on the nose and in the mouth. Ruined my experience w this wine. The next day the petroleum was gone but what a as left was uninspiring. Some acid but monolithic and boring, truthfully.

Quite developed with petrol notes and some yellow fruits. No limes nor lemons on palate or nose. Drink up. A disappointing vintage

I agree with previous notes expressing the nose and taste of petrol. It is strong enough to be distracting. Very dry for a Riesling and not much fruit expressed. Drinks more like a NZ Sauvignon Blanc.

Retailer tasting (Vianen) : Petrol in the bouquet and on the palate. Ok acidity and quite dry. Grapefruit bitterness in the finish. Ok wine, but not as elegant as German Rieslings.

Oh wow. Drain all the drops! Thrilling acidity and fruit structure. More lemon sherbet than lime. Drink now or hold for the ages.

Colour is beginning to become a little more golden. The nose is bright citrus with kerosine, but the fruit seems to be coming to the front more as the gets older. Palate is lively lemon and lime, lovely tingly acid which also feels like its softening, becoming creamy. Will continue to hold.

Subtle zesty notes on the nose with an underlying hint of kerosene. Powerful lemongrass and lime on the palate with medium acidity levels, going all the way to the back palate with a lengthy aftertaste. A lovely Riesling, everything it should be and worth the plaudits. Will continue to develop for a number of years if I can keep my hands off it.

Crystal clear, pale straw colour. The nose is mostly mineral, kerosine with some lemon. The palate has tight citrus, lemon, lime, apple and a tart steely acidity teaming through it's very long finish that leaves your mouth tingling.

Beautiful young Riesling. Fragrant and fruity. Will try again in a few years.
