Elegant and somewhat nuanced. Nice cherry fruit and earth with some spicy aromas. Nice texture and modest tannins with a medium-bodied finish. Surprisingly fresh considering its age, and it was poured from a 375ml bottle. Holding its own, but recommended drinking soon.

Tasty. Drinking well, and I don't see it gaining anything by waiting longer. Plenty of fruit, not too primary, but was slightly disappointed by the lack of anything "extra". Secondary flavors were somewhat muted. Still, an excellent Pinot, even if not the wow I was hoping for.

A nice pinot, very soft but not flabby. Cherry flavor with a bit of acid. did not feat past peak but just about there. Not fruit driven like Cali or Oregon pinot, but somehow closer and authentic to the pinot varietal. Was okay and could see it going well with most foods. would have been just as good with pasta as a chianti, that's how soft it was. The wine looks Garnet colored. The legs are Medium. It smells like …

Actually consumed in 2010. With a friend watching the hawks beat Vancouver 5-1 to take the series. Nice wine, very smooth and polished, nothing complex but but very drinkable. Acid almost non-existent and very pleasant. Could drink this all the time. Feel it would be good food wine as well

Nose has a saline quality....and an almost rubber quality, cherry, pickled ginger and spice...smells almost new world after the 1978 Clos de mouches Palate has a cherry and citrus quality.....grapefruit almost. Finish is medium

Louis Latour White & Red Burgundy Tasting (Monterrey, Mexico) : From magnum. The nose is marred by burnt rubber and iodine. Very muted otherwise. Dull. Lower acidity and some smoke. Dissapointing. De magnum. La nariz está afectada por un aroma penetrante a hule quemado y yodo. Poca fruta. Aburrido. Con menos acidez que los demás. Decepcionante.

Touch disappointing, suspect a bit of heat damage at some point (though I've had since release, and others from same batch were good). Cork stained about half way but not soft.

Funky barnyard nose with minty eaucalyptus, earth and tart cherries. A great big pine cone in your mouth. This softened but never left. Smoky, meaty, charcoal with cherries and raspberries.

TN: Maison Louis Latour Savigny-les-Beaune 1 ier Cru, $9/375 ml; Jerardi Little Store, Peters Road and Little York Road; imported by Louis Latour Wines; San Francisco, CA. Relatively rich, slightly bricking cherry color when compared with my memory of previous Latour wines. Floral cherry note, with new cedar, freshly crished black pepper, wood, sweet vanillin. Starts with a touch of green but this goes away quickly wiith some air. Vigorous entry and clean, dry cherries, with fine Pinot tannins, clean, …

Impression only but nice wine, earthy, cherry, hint of licorice and cola, long finish with juicy acidity. Still young but the rough edges beginning to come off.

This was singing last night. On the nose right after popping, had rich cherry and earth, hint of cola - blind, I would have guessed new world for sure. On the palate, bright acidity still there but richer fruit had come to the forefront. Long finish with fine tannins tapering off.

A little too acidic, tart for my tastes, but otherwise a decent, relatively inexpensive burg from one of my favorite regions. Good cherry flavors, but that tartness (metallic, as Squirreljam puts it) did not work for me. An hour in the glass improved it marginally, but not by much. Nowhere near the WS 91pt!

I think that you caught the bottle on the young side. I've found that one of the keynotes of the 2002 vintage is that there exists a tight tight core that will take time to unwind, even though it might show a few glossy moments. Vignes Franches & the Corton Grancey vineyards are 2 places where Latour shines and I think that these wines simply need some more time. Cheers! Kairos Cuilann des Rosiers

Nice bottle. Rich mouthfeel (for burgundy) on a fairly deep red color. Spicy cherries up front that morph into a long finish with metallic notes. Initial impression of acidity turns to red velvet texture after 30-45 mins in a glass.

2002 Red Burgundy (Vinexpo Chicago) : Earthy but not funky. However, it came off as dull or flat tasting and slightly on the acidic side. 82 points.
