Medium weight; smooth and balanced; soft and muted fruit. Very nice.

The wine was very good: balanced blue and black fruits with nice structure. It's another strong Nickel & Nickel showing from the challenging 2017 vintage. That said, this particular bottle will live in our friend group lore forever because of the story. We gave the 2017 N&N Vaca Vista as a gift to Chris & Tracy at my promotion reception for Colonel as a thank you for their long-distance travel to the event. Aunt Martha of "that will do" wine-tasting …

Drinking very nicely. Decanted for an hour, maybe could’ve used another 30-60 minutes.

Tons of VA. Some cherry and bramble. Red currants. Hugely disappointing from a producer I generally love! Tannins are not integrated either.

This one was strange. Not bad strange, just unexpected. Complex but kind of earthy-berry-medicinal. Almost faintly like Moxie.

The wine is a deep purple in color. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, blueberry, black currant, prune, dust, light toast, cedar, coconut, oak, vanilla, clove, eucalyptus, oregano, alcohol/hot and butter. The palate is consistent with the nose. This wine is dry, alcohol is high, tannin is high, the body is full, the finish is long, acidity is high, complexity is high, and the wine is well balanced. Overall, this wine …

The wine visually presents deep purple color with thin medium legs. There was no sediment in the bottle. The faint bouquet teases you with a ghostly hint of carnation, cranberry and blackberry complimenting a bright early harvest cherry. The initial honeysuckle flavor is quickly overcome by the bright youthful flavor of red currant, cranberry, cherry and mineral. This wine should age for a minimum of 4 years but no longer than 8 years.

Opened by a friend. No formal notes other than this was young and could use some time but was tasty now. 91+ points.
