Not sure how to rate this, but I’m finding that I just don’t like Gruner Veltliner. I love olives and brine, just not in my wine.

Got this from Tatomer mixed case -> while I prefer the rieslings, this is still legit. Preferred room temp. Good stuff.

Nose of green apple and white stone fruit with some nice floral touches. Palate of apricot, peach and citrus with a pleasantly mineral finish. A soft, lush Grüner compared to the sometimes very mineral Austrian stuff we're used to, but a fine and refreshing expression of the type.

Nicely textured, citrus, think this would pair nicely with seafood but not crazy about it without food.

I like Tatomer's wines, and I give them a great deal of credit for trying a varietal that isn't typical in California. But this one misses the mark. Thin, doesn't seem to have any typical gruner veltiner characteristics--or any distinctive character at all, really.

Only rating it lower than the 2012 because I now know I LOVE a little age on these. Very fresh spring early summer exuberant and fruity. In 5 years this will drop fruit to show a finer silk underneath.

Last bottle and very nice. Similar to previous notes with none of the stunning clarity the best bottles had, but neither the more sullen characterstics of a bottle of two. Really captures the varietal nicely and with approachable verve.

Back on form here. Refreshing and focused, but with real density of fruit. Kiwi, peach, and apple with a smoky herbal note and very clean minerality. Really well knit, although perhaps lacked that extra lift on the finish.

This was interesting. A very svelte and approachable Grüner Veltliner. More on the pretty floral and fruited side than the green pea, white pepper thing (although there is some of the pea thing, just not the white pepper). Fun to drink and enjoyable although I'm not sure I would pick it blind as Grüner Veltliner but the expression of that grape in CA is still to be defined. A wine I'll keep an eye on. It's good to see all …

Really enjoyed this one. Keep in the summer rotation.

Probably the most disappointing of the bottle so far. Nose started off brilliant - perhaps the most thrilling nose of any bottle. Crushed stones, piercing lime, apple skins, and a reductive white pepper note. Full of energy and zing. The palate, while not a dud, was more mundane - apple compote, some lime cordial, white peach and a melony spun sugar finish that was a little light on the acid front.

Broadly similar notes to previous, but there was something slightly more sullen about this bottle. Green fruits went in a plush greengage direction with a touch of spun sugar on the finish. Still very lovely, but lacking consistent oomph.

This had that energy on the finish that the last bottle was missing. Previous notes are broadly the same, though there was more intensity and focus to the flavours on the palate. Absolutely delicious with Thai food.

Intense mineral driven nose with flint, chalk, green apple and lime. Palate doesn't quite meet the expectations of the nose, falling a little flat in the mid-palate, but there's lots of green orchard fruits and spritely citrus with more typical white pepper. Good acid, but lacks the energetic lift this needs to stick around for longer.

Intensely citrusy. Interesting aromatic overtones of white pepper and green beans. Good wine, but definitely best with food.

Straightforward simple fresh white wine. With rich foods, it seemed a little thin, and less distinctive than its Austrian ancestor. Straight out of the fridge will be too cold; definitely drink no colder than cellar temp.
