Relativt ljust röd. Medel syra och tanniner. Komplex näsa med röda bär och körsbär. Härliga mognadstoner och dricks helt perfekt nu, just 'past peak'. Får mig att tänka på årgången 2007 i Chateauneuf-du-Pape som är ljuvlig att dricka nu. Ett utmärkt vin (även om jag sätter litet frågetecken kring prislappen).

Je savais que ce vin avait le potentiel de surprendre plusieurs dégustateurs un jour. Ce jour est arrivé en sept. 2018 lors d'une dégustation à l'aveugle. Il a gagné sa vague, devançant même Gruaud-Larose 1983!! Un Q/P imbattable dans une excellente année en Argentine.

Lots of fruit, not much complexity or structure. Nice cocktail wine. Was thinking I'd found a nice red table wine until I went back and saw how much I paid for it. Seems to be a recurring Hobbs theme for me personally: you can buy better but you can't pay more.

2009 vintage

Rich with smooth dark fruits, toasted oak and short finish. Completely one dimensional; has nothing to offer but over-ripened fruit. Throwing some sediment. Enjoyable, but not a very strong effort, especially considering the price. You can do better for half the price in either California or Bordeaux, depending on which style you prefer. This poses as both and delivers neither.

Nice blend, beautiful nose of berries, ripe red fruit. Good balance, acidity, soft tannins, with solid finish. Very nice bottle. Drinking well now.

Smooth cassis, black cherry, plum, cedar. Great initial and midpalate transitions, but the finish left me just a little bit unsatisfied. It was a nice wine and interesting to see stuff like this coming out of Argentina, but I'm not sure I would buy it again at the price.

Dark fruit and licorice on nose and palate, with a bit of chocolate, spice and mineral as well. Good fruit. Bigger style, but not over-the-top; made for a steak. Tannins were still a little firm at first, but smoothed out with a little air. Try the next bottle in 2015.

Nice animal nose with some dark fruit, good acidity and nice fruit on the palate with some liquorice. Smooth, but needs a bit more time to be totally integrated and balanced, but very good now.

Deep ruby purple color. Cassis and licorice nose. Cassis, licorice, and spice on the palate. Tannins fairly well integrated. Medium finish is harmonious. But it never got more interesting, more complex; pretty sure I overrated before. Good with seared steak.

Good / Very Good – clear dark ruby – opaque; dark fruits and chocolate on nose; off-dry; full body; mid acidity; high tannins but soft on air and after decant; long finish; dark fruits; dark currants; bit jammy; quite alcoholic; big wine; some oak/vanilla; chocolate; lovely balance; decanted 1 hour before drinking through a Vinturi – left the wine quite soft and balanced at the end. Had with a good steak.

Very dark color, almost black. Beautiful cassis on the nose and the palate. Well integrated. Very nice.

Il vieillit bien! Comment le qualifier? De la grande classe à prix doux. Le boisé se fond tranquilement, mais ça reste une belle bête avec un beau boisé. Puissant, mais élégant. J'adore.

Dark coloured with deep ripe blackcurrant and blueberry fruit and a fig leaf note, also wet earth and florality. Complex with beautiful texture full bodied wine with some leathery notes on the mouth. Nice interplay of ripe almost raisiny fruit with freshness. New world style at its very satisfying.

Wines of Paul Hobbs (Farpointe Cellar) : Cherry and raspberry on the nose, plus some spice and mocha notes. There's a little earthiness in the middle, and a good stony finish. Soft and juicy on the palate, with earth and spice on the mid-palate, and black fruit and mocha finish.

Clear deep purple colour, no fading on the rim. Pronounced nose of blackcurrant, then leather, then blackcurrant again along with slight vanilla in the background. As per last note, still youthful (note to self - slow down the run-rate a bit!). Full-bodied with some tannins evident but not overpowering. Went well with venison.

Purple colour, still young. Blackcurrant with the oak smoothly integrated. Good length. Tasted like a cool-climate cab blend (which is a good thing) and I think it'll develop over the next couple of years into something special, especially given the price.
