Really liked this wine a lot. Not much nose to speak of, but a perfectly lovely, clear lemon color. On the palate, this is classic Sauvignon Blanc; impossible to mistake it for anything else. Crisp and clean, with a hint of citrus and pineapple, and an earthy finish. The fruit is fairly subdued, and doesn't overpower the acidity of the wine, as so often happens with New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs. On the other hand, it isn't bone dry like a …

Simple ripe Sauvignon fruit with a touch of pineapple. Some glycerine. Not bad at all for basic generic white Bordeaux.

Aunty Penny's Birthday (The Lohs') : Cheap and cheerful stuff, this was surprisingly quaffable. Okay on its own, but it came alive when paired with a seafood platter with prawns, crayfish and clams in cooked in white wine. The nose on the wine had some creamy oak notes, lots of lemony toness, some neutral white fruit and spice bits.
