Domaine Joly Côtes du Jura Les Varrons

Vanilla & oak bomb to start, the fruit whispering in the background (lemon, golden apple). The same story on the palate, but the fruit really falls away. Short, tart finish. There was slight improvement on the second day and went well with raclette and truffled goat cheese. I paid $11 and I wouldn’t buy it again.

Light medium golden yellow color with slight haziness; savory, lemon gelee, lemon oil, sautéed squash nose; oily textured, tart lemon, lemon oil, chamomile palate with medium acidity; medium-plus finish (100% Chardonnay, 13% alcohol; composite cork)
