2010 Burgundy: 15 years on (Noize) : Greener, brighter nose - stemmy? Apparently this is indeed a whole-cluster wine; I'm often a sceptic of that style, but it really, really worked here. Clean and sleek too, so perhaps that's the workaround. Lovely purplish brambly fruit on the palate, elegant yet substantial and with an underlying floral quality. Really great, and my favourite wine tonight.

Nicks 2010 Burgundy dinner (Noizé, London) : needed a little time to freshen up on the nose, this seemed to have a scorched nose, maybe high toast, high extraction and still a bit stemmy, bags of ripe dark cherry fruit to balance, this improved in the glass nicely

Had the 2012 a few years ago and thought it was modernized in a way I did not like, but this was a very fine Bourgogne. Needs 1 hour in the glass to really open up.

Translucent medium ruby. Lifted, steely nose of rose petal, focused red strawberry, berry, crushed stone. On the palate, so much gorgeous, detailed red berry fruit somehow blossoming on the crisp, fine-boned frame. Brisk acidity and smoothed tannin. Long finish of slightly tart but ultimately sweet red berry anchored in iron and noble earth. This wine is propelled by exquisite balance, energy, and precision. Brilliant showing. Brought to Anna's Table, Cannon Beach (great experience).

Very good premier cru morey. Slight hints of vanilla on the nose. Silky entry on the palate. Dark fruits, black cherry, Asian spice and tea. Nice length on the finsh. Well integrated, and certainly balanced. Good if a bit modern in a crowd pleasing way. I would buy again.

This was a crowd pleaser. Fairly dark red, nose is quite open with red and dark fruits. Soft on the palate, it feels a bit more on the modern side, with great structure and balance, ending with a long finish. I kept going back to this one during the evening.

This smells and tastes like Morey. Rich and delicious. An underrated producer. Will go another 10 years minimum. Note how prices are gravitating upwards on these wines.

Bday Burg session at Maison Dakota. Tasted blind. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of delicate red cherries, red flowers, stony minerality, chalk. Developing. On the palate, dry, juicy high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), gentle medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of pretty red cherries, chalky stones minerality, fresh earth. Long finish. Very good quality. Primary character still dominant and feels youngish. Nice wine. Nose is highly expressive with cherries and floral bouquet. On the palate I find the body doesn’t back up the nose and the finish is rather lean with no real secondary expressions. I find this wine to pop on the nose, echo on the body and fall flat in the finish. That’s said; it’s a nicely balanced wine at each point and acidity is bright.

Weekly tasting group RWP #334; Burgundy 2010 (@ VD) : Beautiful bouquet with primary fruits like strawberries and some smoke. On the palate red berries like strawberries and raspberries, elegant acidity and mild tannin. Beautiful and elegant wine.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #134; Morey Saint Denis (By VD) : Lactic cherries and also some brushwood and forest floor in the bouquet. On the palate dark berries, autumn forest, herbs and spices, beautiful acidity, juicy tannin, full bodied and a good length. Beautiful, juicy and well balanced wine.

Similar to our experience 15 months ago, with these notrs: Took to a restaurant. Decanted. Lovely nose. On the palette, quite reticent at first, starting to open after two+ hours. Deep earthy fruit, nice balance, lovely acidity. We are quite sure it would have been much more enjoyable on the second day.

At Loek's tasting (see also the '06 Perrot-Minot La Rue de Vergy and the '05 Bryczek Cuvée du Pape Jean-paul II) this wine had super fresh fruit (7 years after the harvest!) and violets in the bouquet, concentrated with a hint of cocoa in the also fruity midtaste, elegant finish, lovely wine.

Dark ruby, with no fading at the edges. Deep, earthy, complex nose -- corresponding taste and finish. Very complete and harmonious wine. Lovely on day one, even better on day two.

Showed a bit underwhelming this time -- goo earthy taut fruit but a tad leaner than would have liked. Will retaste the next day. Much better the next day with lovely spicy fruit.

Deep, dark and brooding -- reticent at first with dusty earthy teeny bit of funk initially. Opened to dark roasted chocolate notes and crushed minerals. Will see how it breathes overnight.
