Yummy and expressive and full of character. Vibrant, textured, juicy red fruit. Not jammy, not cooked. Need more of these! This should have some life ahead of it but it's drinking really well right now! Drank side by side the 2016 and this 2019 had a lot more energy and still a sense of freshness/ripe-persistency to the fruit. Juicy structure, but not without it. Very pleased.

This is singing. Acid and tannin still there but fully integrated. Savory olive and tomato notes prominent with some fruit in the background. A pleasure to drink and excellent QPR. Need more of these.

Excellent- the classic olive/tomato notes sitting on a vibrant backbone of acid and fine tannins. Quite tart in profile so needs some food but such a good example of the varietal. At this price point, this is a no brainer.

By the glass at the GB roofbar, Athens and probably opened for sometime. Young and this is too early in a way, rich fruit but in no way confectionery or sweet, young barolo feel in a way , firm and pure but still ever so young and one now sees but a glimpse. Good 88-89 for now albeit we need to note we are biased

Trying Xinomavro for the first time bc I've heard it's similar to Barolo and that's definitely true. Tart cherries, high acidity, good amount of tannins, tho not as much or as grippy as barolos. Light to medium body, medium finish. Not as much complexity or development as the better barolos. A little linear, but very enjoyable daily sipper. EDIT: Raised from 90 to 91. Really enjoyed this fresh, acidic, tasty wine. More complexity than initially thought. Will be exploring more …

Tried on friend’s recommendation in Greece. Am a newcomer to Xinomavro so had no expectations. Pours ruby red. The nose is vegetal and saline, giving way to high-toned floral notes like rose petal and white peach. On the palate it is mouth puckering acidic; I understand the references to tomato and pomegranate. To me this is a light wine, not full bodied, though surely strong tannins; and I also don’t pick up the new oak used. Subjectively this is more …

Mixed feelings on this one. The oak work washes out a lot of the loveable characteristics of the hedgehog cuvée, but the extra concentration leads to an intense clove and deep red cherry experience that is enticing in its own right.
