Cherry, currant, and cedar on the nose. Good acidity, more berry fruit on the palate, with good tannins and a semi-long finish.

PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs -med dark red minimal clearing -lifted red and blue fruits spice element -med+/high acidity, med weight somewhat unidimensional dark and red fruit with a creamy note emerging on the moderately long finish with med tannins -not very familiar with this producer, a bit darker and bigger than Guillemot's '08 Narbantons but less complex and elegant, acidity is a bit out of balance

Voluminous nose of barnyard, cranberry. Dense fruit on the palate which is tightly wound. Strong acidity and coarse tannins make the wine appear unbalanced. Despite this, a lovely bouquet is enough to earn the wine 90 points in my view. I would wait a year or two to open this.

High acid/tart, with a dull nose and especially taste of strawberries and cherry. I'd have to agree with ZSCHEINER on this one -- I don't think this will ever come into balance. Easy-drinking (except for the acid). Moderate length and relatively simple finish. The major plus and saving grace of this Burgundy (makes it drinkable) is the nice firm structure. Just not enough here to keep me interested, and the tart acid knocks it down as well.

Decanted for 4 hours before drinking...had only meant to decant for 2 hours, but the kids got in the way of dinner. Taste had a lot of tartness from rasberry and strawberry. Also had some milk chocolate - at one point it tasted just like chocolate raspberries. It really kind of goes dull on the palate and ends up being thin.

From 375ml. Clean nose, upfront red fruit and minerality. Palate is precise, fruity, light bodied but flavorful. Short, but enjoyable finish.

Some herbal notes on the nose. Medium-bodied. Strawberries, cranberry. Nice smooth tannins. Good acidity with lengthy finish. A bit disjointed and confusing on its own. But really came to life with dinner. Not bad but I expected more for the price.

Fresh red cherries and rhubarb. Nice nose of fresh cut strawberries. You can feel the tannins at the side of your jaw, just enough for it to be a positive sensation. Some secondary savory herbs and earth, although these secondary notes become completely absent on the 2nd day, when sealed with a vacuvin. For the price, not a bad buy for Burgundy.

Mongeard-Mugneret 2008 Red Burgundies (Vin, Vino, Wine Palo Alto CA) : Not as much funk as previous vintage. Lovely nose. Delicate flavors, slightly savory with some cedar/oak and pepper. What enjoyable pinot funk was present did blow off slightly on second taste, showing more fruit. Good value.

2008 Mongeard-Mugneret Red Burgundies (Vin Vino Wine, Palo Alto, CA) : Ripe red cherry nose. Palate doesn't match the nose at all. Tight, high acid, tart cherry fruit with iron-y minerality. May just need time, but I'm not sure this will come into balance.
