Wine, Browns and my 55th Birthday (My Home) : Sadly corked.

Bright disc, very young lemon-gold color. Clean, developing nose of medium(+) intensity with aromas of petrol, lemon zest, pineapple, and some musty minerality. Just off-dry on the palate, light bodied with high acidity and low alcohol. Flavors of lemon zest, pineapple, quite citric. Nice balance and remarkably youthful. Medium(-) length. Overall a good, zingy Kabinett that despite 20 years of development is not yet mature.

Beautiful wine with soft petrol nose mingling with apple and white fruit smells along with a strong mineral character. (Didn't get the citrus this time) Light and still fresh in the mouth. At almost 20 years, this may still be improving slightly, but absolutely ready for drinking now.

Vineyard Gate: Max Ferd. Richter's Library Releases of Riesling (Millbrae, CA) : Recent release from producer. Nose of rubber, petrol, citrus and minerals. Fresh and smooth with citrus and guava notes. Still racy. Excellent and does not show its age at all. Drink or hold.
