Off the bat the nose was completely weird - it does not smell like wine. Funky, chemically, smelling of cheap oak and bad artificial fruit flavoring. Improved a little with time in the glass. On the palate it's fairly monotonous. Candied strawberries, low acid and light tannins. Decent finish.

The aromas span the spectrum of black fruit: blackberry, black currant, boysenberry along with pepper. The palate matches- black fruits bordering on jammy, pepper and a bit of smoke. Light tannins otherwise no structure to speak of to augment the fruit. Drink now.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry and violet. It tastes like black currant (cassis), prune and raisin. The body is medium. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Plum and cherry aromas with depth. Fruity, tangy, ready to drink. Very lodi because of the sweetness.

Black cherry (boysenberry?), jam, blueberry, juicy bordering on sweet. Medium body and swallow. Definitely has some nice tannins - well integrated and mouth coating. No obvious oak.

Nice wine, good juice. However, the blend is a bit unusual and I am not sure it works for me. Just different things going on that I don't think work well together. Perhaps just my palate. I am rating it based on quality and not my likes/dislikes.

A nose of cherry and some spice, medium garnet in color. A medium to full bodied red blend, with black cherry, raspberry, some chocolate and spice on finish. A very good QPR. www.winelx.com

I'm not a huge fan of Zinfandel because of the peppery notes but I love Syrah so this seemed like a good blend to help expand my horizons. The $9 price point didn't hurt either coupled with the high ct score made this a couldn't refuse deal. Raspberry on nose along with a strange smell I couldn't quite place. Palate includes black cherry and raspberry, plus a strange minty astringent flavor that disappeared after an hour of breathing. Almost too …

A bit of smoke and spice in the nose, blackberries, black cherries, anise, cinnamon on the palate. Medium finish. A bit on the sweet side for my taste, but very quaffable, especially at the price.

A terrific blend. It was a deep color from the Petite and it was hearty on the finish. Thrilled to have 2 more bottles.

Decanted 2 hrs, translucent ruby color, earthy nose, light mouthfeel, long finish with some spice/oak, negligible tannins, not sure why Critics Challenge rated so high, decent everyday $10 drinker.

Simple and definite leaning a bit sweet, but still very gulpable. For $12, it's a good mid-week pairing for pizza. Don't look for any complexity, and I wouldn't think about cellaring it, but enjoy the juicy fruit while it lasts.
