Rich Trimpi opened this in honor of Patty Green's recent passing. Served along with a 2011 Wind Gap Sonoma Coast Pinot. This had a little darker, earthier nose, with just the faintest hint of rubber that added interest. Darker toned and slightly tangy. Nice.

The second (and last) bottle from the Berserkerday library pack. Showing beautifully. On the pop 'n pour, seemed to lack depth, but it seemed to fill out as it got some air. Glorious Oregon Pinot typicity, bright, fleshy mouthfeel, good earthy character, very well-balanced. Absolutely loved this with flatbread and assorted tapas-styled snacks. Not bad at all for the lowest level PGC Pinot in a "off" vintage!

From the 2016 Berserker Day library release special. Fully open and alive with zippy petits fruits rouge, mushroom, earth, pipe tobacco. Great harmony, a bit slender and compact maybe, but the bottle vanished in no time all the same.

Dark ruby in color with the slightest of bricking at the edges, this wine reveals forest floor, Asian spices, black raspberry and minerals on the nose. The mouth feel brings very soft, subtly sweet tannins and earthy mushroom elements. The finish has surprisingly bright acidity given the age of this wine. 13.0% abv. Purchased for $27US as part of the Berserker Day offering of cellar release directly from the winery, this is about as good of a wine to be …

Cloudy maroon color accented with orange. On the initial opening there was a distinct mustiness, but after two hours open it was replaced by sweet red fruits and a hint of mushroom. Flavors of red fruits and earth accented by citrus. This is in a nice place right now, and everything is in balance and the tannins are completely integrated. Probably won't last much longer but quite nice now.

Of the BerserkerDay 3-pack of the 2004, 2007, and 2008, I liked this 2007 the best of the 3. Yes, the acidity is the highest of the three, but it gave it a vibrancy that the other two were lacking, though those wines were also very good.

The wine looks Garnet colored. The legs are Fast. It smells like and Mushroom. It tastes like and Red Currant. The body is Light/Medium. The wine has Angular texture.

Opened this, immediately poured half the bottle into an empty 375ml and put it back in the cellar. Drank the first half and thought it was a nice wine. Good nose, a bit flabby on the palate with more earth than fruit coming through. One week later I opened the second 375ml and this thing was bangin'! The fruit on the nose meshed in a bit with the earthy notes and the acidity and tannin smoothed out and were singing …

Nice wine, but not up to its pedigree. A little bit course on the finish. Dark color for a Pinot, not as refined as one would like.

Some acidity, sour cherries, a hint of cola, and I could be talked into a touch of tin foil. Some mocha cherry stuff on the nose. Okay for the price.

Cranberry, chalk, strawberries and floral. On the palate strawberries, minerals, cranberries, roses and chalk. Good acidity and medium finish. Very nice wine for the price point.

This wine has promise but I wish I'd held it 2 - 3 more years. This is an earthy pinot noir, medium bodied with a short finish. Patricia Green has always been a favorite of mine, but this one was a bit disappointing. Again, more age might have helped it.

Some leathery funk that is more noticable on the nose than on the palate. Fairly austere cherry fruit. Quite acidic. Not bad for the vintage but I don't need to have any more of it.

Very nice, typical, Oregon Pinot, with a generous nose of barnyard, forest floor funk. Good fruit on the palate, with some dark and red fruit showing their stuff. Medium body, reasonable finish. For the price, not at all dissapointing. Quite young, showing promise for cellaring.

Good little QPR. Pretty indicative of the lesser '07s from quality producers.

Maybe I got spoiled on the 06's. I would not buy this again for the price. Drank over two days it was no different on the second day good or bad. Astringent, slightly vegetal. Definetly more earthy and lighter bodied than normal for Or. Pinot.

A value-priced pinot from a great Oregon PN producer. A typically light pinot colour, but the nose is big. And it is funky. Some veggie (rotten, but not in a bad way) and singed rubber character, along with an earthy, musty kicker. Sour cherries on the palate. Sort of fun to analyze, as it has character and complexity. Finish isn't too long. Much more approachable now than the GC Commuter PN. Will buy more as a daily drinker when an …

The acid-forward, lightly-fruited wine one would expect from an '07 Willamette Valley PN, with a vicious, slightly smoky green streak tearing through the middle. Grochau Commuter Cuvee is a huge win over this one.
