Tasted at a reunion dinner the focus was definitely not on the wine. So notes here are general impressions. Do not recall anything of note on the note. Seemed pretty unexpressive. Loads of red cherry fruit on the front of palate growing over time to darker, black cherry notes towards the back of the palate. Everybody in some secondary notes definitely coming through as the wine opened up, but I could not focus enough to place them. Cola? I feel …

Love this wine. Great fruit, decent acidity, nicely balanced.

PnP. Nose of cherry, spice and a hint of apple wood. Cinnamon, star anise, bright cherry and red licorice palate with medium plus acidity, followed by lots of whole cluster character, red flowers and minerals. Notes of tangerine lead the finish with pomegranate, thyme, and light but lingering tannins. Balanced Pinot that’s a pleasure to drink.

Excellent balance of structure and darker fruits. Not much on the nose though.

Immediately promising on the nose, and delivering, front to back, layers of nuanced complexity. The palate gracefully applauds the nose with delicate yet robust red/black fruit, strawberry/blackberry compote. Perfumed, yes...like an English County Garden, right after being organically fertilized. The earth is present, so is the tack shop. Lingering finish, cellar worthy.

Minor historic moment for me on CellarTracker, tasting a wine I've given my highest score to thus far (97, only given to 7 wines out of 1,672 notes as of writing, on 1,568 DIFFERENT wines)- and it totally lived up to my recent memory of tasting it only a year prior. A lot of personal hype to live up to, and it had no issue doing so. Still majestic and crystalline, with effortless, billowing scents of strawberry shortcake, coastal pine …

PnP. Nose of black raspberry, black tea, dried thyme, and notes of potting soil. Peppery red raspberry and dusty earth palate ripples with energy, then melding into clay, elongated tannins, stewed rhubarb, cinnamon, and lots of rocky flavors.

With Baked Salmon/Truffled Goat cheese Fairly restrained and not very open. Elegant. Lots of darker notes/fruit. Black Raspberry, earth, glycerin, iodine, some matchsticks. Needs air and it will release itself. Think it will get better but good already. Revisit 2028

Just not digging the couple wines I’ve had here. Certainly well made, can appreciate that others may love them. But has a little green note plus, for me, a metallic finish that I never enjoy. C likes it better than I do so will be a his and hers wine night :)

Young but beautiful. Balanced nose with a lot of finesse. Cherry, red currant and a little bit of blueberry. Blackcurrant leaf. Cedar and something like plane tree bark. Cinnamon and allspice which give the fruit some sweet (even though not jammy) character. Already just a hint of forest floor, this would actually be great in 3 or so years. The palate is in good balance as well: red fruit, warm elegant spice, cedar, and developing forest floor. A little bit …

Wow! This is like strawberry rhubarb pie, but not jammy at all. This is fresh, crisp red fruits, very floral, hibiscus, could smell this all day. Then on the palate, just when you think the beautiful nose cannot be topped, the palate is even better! All the wild strawberries, acidity is great. Bought this wine knowing it was WS #4 wine of the year, and usually on these wines, there is nowhere to go but down, this however exceeded my …

So so. Not bad but certainly nothing exceptional. Got that chocolate, heavily candied cherry, strawberry compote thing that just screams California, no matter how cold and close to the sea the grow site is. No doubt it’s fruit is of high quality origins and it’s well made but honestly it just shows as another forgettable CA waste of money. A strong green raw vegetable quality and becoming quite disjointed between the fruit and acid as it gets more air. Absolutely …

This is going to be a very good wine but I’m not going to rate it yet because it was not yet in the window that I prefer drinking it. In my mind, this wine can and should be aged for quite a few years. Even decanting the wine 1 hour only hinted at its potential. WSET: Med+ plus mouth watering acidity, medium plus and very ripe tenants, medium plus to high flavor intensity leading to a very long finish. …

This is the 6th wine I've rated 97 on CT, my highest score so far (basically perfect) out of around 1,300 different wines. Of those 6, it's also the 3rd CA Pinot Noir, and the 2nd from the Sonoma Coast (and I generally consider QPR in my scores, too.) For me, this was absolutely divine- not only a stunning wine, but *incredibly* well-priced, even though it's not cheap. The sheer precision, balance, expressivity, and complexity are all awe-inspiring, and being …

Outstanding!! Stylistically very Sonoma Coast (would never mistake as Burgundy) but in this case that's a compliment. Rich fruity and hugely expressive nose followed by gobs of fruit in the mouth with a gymnast's sense of balance. MMMMMMMMMM!

This wine is very approachable already - although I'm sure it would benefit from some more bottle age. Has a very delicate and body on the lighter side (at least from what I expected hearing it was whole cluster), but really an enjoyable wine and would love to stock more.

Champagne and Sonoma tasting; 8/4/2023-8/5/2023 (K&L Wine Merchant - San Francisco) : Aromas of fun red and blue whole berries with its brown stems. There’s a gentle funk that’s subtle but works really well with the berry notes. Similar berries flavors from the nose with a lovey earthy note that compliments the fruits well. The earthiness has a soft bitterness to it, as if it were from broken twigs and fallen branches, and notes of cool stones sitting under a …

RAEN is the Pinot-Noir/Chardonnay effort of two grandchildren of Robert Mondavi… hence, i imagine the "Royal St. Robert" monicker of this cuvée. attractive bright ruby and medium-bodied in the glass. inviting nose of clear and pure red fruit accented with tea, blood orange, and whiffs of thyme, herbs, and earth. juicy and round in the mouth, the flavours are mostly primary and in display against a very firm, though smoothly contoured, tannic backbone. there is only a hint of the …

Terrific, deep aroma on this wine. A good amount of strawberry, potpourri , and with noticeable hints of black tea. Beautifully soft on the palate. Finished 2nd just behind Occidental cuvee Elizabeth in a recent pinot tasting.

Color is that of cherry gelatin. Thin and sticky legs on the glass. Bouquet of fresh strawberry and white sugar. Faint mineral aroma. Palate is more strawberry with blood orange and mineral water. A tang hits the back of the mouth. Medium to light mouthfeel yet it still coats the tongue and cheeks. Lingering hints of lemon zest. Superbly refreshing.
