Drank today, still had strength left in it - but much of the nose had disappeared. Overall - special wine to me but not one for the long haul at this stage ;-)

Very nice but it has lost a bit of structure and structure since my last two tries of this wine, eight and twelve months ago... I believe it had now passed its peak. Still enjoyable though but drink up!

Colour is still dark, rich red. Nose of dark cherry, anise and maybe some plum at first. Straight out of the bottle it’s still thick and spicy, so I’m going to let it sit for a bit. After opening up for about 20 min, it is smooth and tasty. There’s more of a dried fruit nose and taste now drier cherry with leather, but still some juiciness. The finish is more anise and dry cherry.

Dark, medium garnet colour. Tarry currant, pencil lead, toasted nut, new leather and mocha nose. Elegant, supple, complex and distinct. Minerally, dried fruit flavours, with a dry, structured finish. 4.5/5

Decanted 1 hour and lovely to drink now. Still purple/black colour, not showing excessive age. Soft and chewy tannins; initial blackcurrant nose gives way to liquorice/fennel with hint of dark chocolate on palate too. My last bottle and the best yet!

Very dark purple color; opaque. Nose evokes black currants, dark licorice, a bit of leather and tobacco. Consumed over three evenings. The first evening, on the palate seems to be displaying some secondary characteristics but is still quite tannic. It may be in an awkward phase without too much future. It mellowed some by the third evening so may still have a couple years of life ahead of it. I had purchased six bottles as futures and this may have …

Not as open as I expected but good drinking; peppery with a dry finish, not as rounded as I would heve expected from a St Emilion.

Tasting 7 Bordeaux of the 2000 vintage (Walnut Creek, Ca.) : Medicinal nose with great tobacco, typical Bordeaux, great acid on palate, great tobacco and fruit tonight, sweet fruit, and a medium/long finish, needs 5 years. My #1 tie of 7.
