Plummy, a little black cherry, slight mushroom, sweet spice, earth. Juicy, wild cherry, fresh, non-intrusive alcohol warmth, floury burr is slightly drying, hmm.

quite cedary spice - all nutmeg with a smidge of clove - over time it opens to show red and black fruit and slips down the throat with alarming alacrity. a little 'rustique' but annoyingly enjoyable.

Een genot deze wijn! Zachte, light-bodied wijn met soepele, fluweelzachte tannines die de tong strelen. In de neus eerst vooral kruidig (laurier en tijm?) en natte grond. Na wat lucht komen de fruitige tonen vrij; rijpe kers, rode bes en een vleugje framboos. Ook gewelde rozijn en in de verte wat vanille. Wijn is heel mooi in balans. De afdronk deed het me aan hibiscus denken.

From Coravin. Savoury, meaty and bloody initially, with time a little red cherry and earth, sweet spice. still fresh and juicy and fleshy on the palate, wetly enjoyable with a touch of sous bois on the finish. Feels like lunchtime Burgundy.

Coravin fun with Mats and Fredrik part one (My place, Kent Street) : From Coravin. Black cherry, clay, earth, plenty of sweet spice with a peppery underpin, a little jubey note to the fruit. Juicy, savoury, black cherry, silky slightly flour textured tannins. Medium plus length. Kind of nice.

Coravin fun - Red Burgundy new arrivals (Kennards, Waterloo) : From Coravin. Wet clay, earthy, slight redcurrant and cherry and some dusty elements. Red currant is slowly nudged aside by cherry on the palate, it's pleasantly fleshy but a little warm, compared to the first three wines, on the finish.

Pinot and Pate matching (KC's place) : From Coravin. Perfumed and polished red cherry. In the mouth there are slightly sour cherry notes with fine silky tannins. Rather pleasant.

Coravin fun - Burgundy practice #2 (Kennards, Waterloo) : From Coravin. Biscuit, cherry, cream, slight vanilla and sweet spice but also a meaty element. The cherry is slightly sour on the palate backed by cream and quite tight, gritty, tannins. Hmm.

popped and poured. took about an hour and a half to come together, prior to that it was a bit disjointed...more time required and a bit of vinfanticide. More dark fruit spectrum for me, quite broad as well. Kind of nice but needs more time.
