Garnet to slight purple, defined rim variation. Medium legs, moderate sediment; stood the wine up for about a day before serving. Aromas are black fruit dominant with hints of spice: blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, black currant. A bit of plum but not jammy. On the palate, more defined oak, cedar, vanilla, eucalyptus, and mint. Even a bit of chocolate. Medium/full body, very smooth texture; the tannins have attractively softened.
