So this is 40 (Noreetuh) : Yeah, this is the good stuff. Tightly wound but showing an intense, piercing core of bright fruit accented by sweeter toasty and vanilla notes. It has the richness, power, and acids of the vintage, but gives the impression it's holding something back right now. I'd give this one more time.

My bottle. Nose is very tight - chalky, lemon, citrus, white florals, winey. Deep. Palate has solid mousse, lots of acid. Sharp on palate - lots of citrus. Great sharp mousse. Spicy. Good grip. Finish is spicy, ginger, acid and a bit of citrus minerals. Not showing at the level of my previous bottle - This needs lots of air or time but has the combo of acidic drive w some fresh fruit/spiciness that I didn't get in the other …

60% 2009, 40% 2010, disgorged 2022 Nose: ripe yellow apple, slightly floral, slightly soy Taste: rich and steely, apple, sweet lemonade, some brioche notes that become more apparent as the wine warms to maybe 15C or so. Not sure how long this wine has been aged on lees, possibly as much as 10-12 years. If that's the case, I got this for a song. While probably not the most complex Champagne out there (my experience limited, mind you), it is …

Nose-faint toasty pear, muted at first; good palate density, sneaky acidity, showing very nicely, broadening out w/air. Still has good stuffing at 17yo.

Wow. This is one of the best 2008s I have had and I have had a lot. On par with Cristal, Krug, Rare, and Salon…for pennies on the dollar. Baking spice aroma then pure, crisp apple and lemon meringue pie on the palate. Texturally perfect. All parts in the right place. Couldn’t be happier. I love these guys and if I was ever lucky enough to own a champagne house I would gladly have it be PJ….tucked away in Ludes. …

We liked this bottle. It still showed apple tones, but I did not sense any sweetness. There were some savory notes, a creamy texture and plenty of vibrancy. I’ll buy this again, I think.

I can't disagree with the prior note, there's a modest range of fruit flavors centered on apple, but there's also a delightful creaminess and impeccable balance here, with some nutty nuance at the margins. 2010 base year, disgorged 2022. Solid QPR and in peak form IMO.

This isn’t bad, but I didn’t like it as much as last time. This is a little too appley and it has a hint of sweetness.

The wine looks yellow gold colored. The legs are fast. It smells like lime, peach, apricot, pineapple, mineral, stoniness, acacia, apple blossom, bready and leesy. The body is light/medium. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Drank over 2 days. Damn this is good. Assertive and potent nose of red apple, green apple, pear, slightly underripe nectarine and other pit fruits, a hint of tropical, spicy with lots of ginger, and serious biscuit and bread. Smoky. The palate is big and winey - more coarse than elegant. Lots of ginger and spicy and orchard and pit fruits with hints of lemon curd. The finish is big and spicy with tons of lemon. Best right out of …

14 years anniversary (delayed from yesterday). Straw yellow in the glas. Newly baked bread, hay and yellow apples on the nose. Dry. Intense and crisp! Citrus, baked apples and cream on the palate. Chalk and minerals. Long, citric exit. A very much alive and vibant -08! Nice!🍾🥂🍾

This bottle came off as a bit more "main stream" with some brioche and pear added to the quince, gooseberries, and minerals. Maybe it wasn't quite as powerful and idiosyncratic as some bottles, but it was still quite enjoyable. This is still going strong and will last at least 5 years at this level.

Purchased this from a Ployez-Jacquemart tasting on the same day as I enjoyed this the most out of the entry-level wines. All of their champagnes showed an oxidative, old-school style unlike the reductive, lean and taut makers that are in fashion now. Low dosage that gave the wine some bite and a linear mouth feel, and the yellow fruit was perfectly ripe to give a round creamy feel that made me suspect some oak use and lees ageing. All their …

This wine showed a nice mouse and feature quince, gooseberry, mineral, and lemon flavors. In the mouth it is medium bodied with good length. This wine is a bit sour at first and seems to have a very low dosage. As it aired it became more balanced and a touch sweeter. This is a lovely, crisp Champagne with a good QPR.

Tasted again and this wine was much like my last bottle. However, this time I allowed it to get a bit more air. As it aired, this Champagne continued to develop more stone in the finish and became more impressive. While it rated a 91-92 when first poured, it got up to about a 93 after 60 minutes of air. It bumped another point after another 60 minutes. If you like a light, lemony, limestone style, you won't do a …

This wine had a light yellow center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose featured quince, minerals, citrus, and a touch of brioche. In the mouth this had a fine, persistent mousse, lovely balance and excellent length. To my taste this wine was still quite young and it had the balance to last. Expect this wine to pick up a point or so with 5-10 years of age.

It was a great treat over dinner (And lunch, the following day). Drank nicely with all the antipasti dishes prepared. Very nice floral on the nose, held well through the meal. Nice QPR on the pricing. I would note that it has a little almond on the palate which works in my favor. [CT score at time of tasting is 90.6, imho a good reflection but slightly biased downwards]

Super angular and biting. Nails on the chalkboard kind of delivery. No real detectable fruit that’s able to show its head without getting lopped off by the steely sword swipe across the palate. Rough go.

Second bottle within a month and boy is this delicious. Clear palate with lime notes, very clean, like unoaked Chablis and tiny bubbles. High salinity. Enjoyed in the Berkshires while BBQ’ing steaks from Guido’s and streaming Phish from Fenway.

Begins with a hit of yeast on the nose and a forward, energetic palate. With air, this smooths out, becomes more Blanc de Blancs, the bead very fine, the yeast turning to cool lime sorbet and grapefruit pith flavors (but not bitter), the palate very clear, light and linear. A great way to end a lovely Fathers Day with family, BBQ at Liz's, then streaming Phish at Bonnaroo.

12% alcohol. No disgorgement date etc. disclosed. Pale lemon color. Initially the nose felt rather simple with citrus-driven fruit aromas and classic yeasty Champagne notes, but after some breathing the aromas open up, revealing more complex and darker-toned aromas of sweet cookie dough and cooked cream, some spicy red apple tones and hints of earthiness. In a rather short period of time the bright and simple nose has turned into something more brooding, complex and serious. The wine is quite …

I drank this among 2 other bottles of champagne and it was not the stand-out. It was nice and chalky dry but somewhere the depth I was hoping for was not present. Maybe I didn't let it warm sufficiently or maybe my palate was a bit washed out. I had expected more and doubt I'll be rushing to pick up another bottle.

Personality is very Pinot & Ultra Brut. Big mouthful. Elegant, complex, long. White flowers, pear-skin, lime-flesh & oyster-shell. Leesy, bready, & dry. Not the smallest bubbles, curiously, but more than very nice overall. Nice combo of elegance, power & complexity. Med+ intensity. My kinda juice. Last (recent) bottle had even slightly more life.
