Approached with interpolation given age. As with all old wines the change over the hours was stark. Upon opening the usual lacklustre thon and watering offering tainted by cork stank. 30 mins some medium fruit Nd little tannin. By the 1 hr mark tannins came forward as dod fruit and tertiary notes. Peak at 2 hrs of deep red fruit, good acidity, subtle tertiary notes of vanilla, tobacco and wood noticeable yet balances. Alcohol feel also faded. At a 13.5% …

Had expected a big monster of a wine, even at 11 years old. In fact it's nicely mature ruby colour, with definite browning at the rim. Secondary flavours have kicked in & was a very interesting wine which was a nice difference to expectations. Good acidity is keeping it fresh. Drink over the next 0-3 years I guess & decant to remove the sediment.
